Saw this game has a dedicated hater here who calls the jump after belly slide inconsistent because it doesn't give you a lift and want to point out he's dumb.1) You are asking for a completely broken jump that would make the game even easier and call it bad for not letting you do something hyperspecific no other game has.2) If you aren't blind you can see that the water jets are diagonal because it's literally a unique move, picrel. You can use it to quickly blast enemies, make sliding paths without running in circles or switching nozzle, etc.3) You also complained that there is no momentum when obviously there is and the game wouldn't work without. Of course Mario comes to a stop from his light jog when you stop pressing the stick, would be awful if not.

That said, no one says SMS is flawed but it's still easily among the best 3D platformers. I know people have strangely selective high standards for Nintendo games but if you don't understand gameplay maybe just play them but don't talk about them.

I hate how low Mario jumps in 3D Mario now. Especially in Galaxy and Odyssey, Mario barely get's any height. Love how high he jumps in Sunshine.
