Did this show up in anyone else's mailbox as a kid randomly? I remember reading it cover to cover.

I had the first issue of nintendo power arrive free,m ebcause I was already subscribed to thenintendo newslatter/fanclub and suddnly a full magazine arrived. Blew me away.

I never got a free gamepro though, no idea how they would have got your address unless you entered a contest for something video game related (they used to sell address lists to publishers of all types of magazines, and contests were a good way to farm addresses with matching interests).
>>
I was subscribed to GamePro but I think I got their first issue at random in the mail. Could've been a think or I'm misremembering.

I wasn't a subscriber to Nintendo Power, but I did somehow get a couple issues and the Donkey Kong Country preview video at random.

Germany and other countries really loved PC gaming in the 90s and 2000s, we got plenty of german publishing here too.

I still have that issue and most of the other GamePros from December '93 to mid '95. A bunch of other mags too but the GamePros hold a special place.

It could have been a Blockbuster promotional thing. I think they might have had a deal with Blockbuster since GamePros were the only magazines I ever saw there besides the official strategy guides.
>>
i already had a gamepro subscription in the mid 90s

Gamepro I got from some game free for a year. It was part of a bundle on a buy. I forgot what game but it wasn't a pre order they weren't a thing, I just was like a first week buyer for SNES or ps1.

Nintendo power I subscribed to and it was always worth it until 64 showed up, not only did I not have one the rest dropped off. Nestors adventures was so fun.
>>
92-96 was peak GamePro. It got a little more serious after that and lost some of its charm.

Pro tip: If you have this issue it could be worth something. They came with a Michael Jordan Chaos in the Windy City trading card that you couldn't get anywhere else. It might have been in some other vidya mags around the same time, but I'm pretty sure 100% of the December 1994 GamePros had one.

Nah, Germany was a tendie nation until a few years ago. Every single game that was remotely popular amongst those who had reached the age of 12 was either heavily censored or straight-up banned there.

I read every issue cover to cover many times. Shit was so funny and unhinged for its time.
I read that the lead editor went on to be the lead guy behind Nintendo Power, which morphed into a podcast that was active up until a few years ago.
>>
anyone else like the Adventures of GamePro?

I still remember the Bill/Bison mask.
