For me, it's the race in the mountains in Carmageddon 2. Fucking miserable level.

>>12005481Ideally you'd have beaten C2 once 25 years ago and then used it as a sandbox game ever since, installing mods and fucking around
>>12007848I assume this is R-Type 2 and that's a pure memorizer stage? Is it akin to stage 6 in R-Type needing to memorize?
>>12005898I never really played C2 beyond as a sandbox game but I kept the game installed in my computer for like 15 years because I kept my porn buried deep inside the C2 subdirectories…
>>12007982Stainless would probably approve of that.
>>12005401>CarmageddonBest Carmageddon games1) Carmageddon REincarnation/Max damage2) Carmageddon 1The rest is problematic.> it's the raceI see what your point is however I did not have problems with the races or most missions as an adult when I was a kid it was different.I can finish the races however some of the missions are borderline EVIL.>The fight a gigantic truck mission> BE ME>First time playing this>Fight the shit with everythign and take power ups and.... The tiem runs out>Another round>Try to use the terain and get him to fall into the mines that are 100 yards down from the track.>Fight him hard>Get all the sprinfg and shiting mines pwoer ups.>Bang him around, shit mines on a oponent who can not more>He is damaged>Not dead!!!>Time runs out!>Awchualley! You needed to pick the power ups at the start and simply drive into him!WTF where the devs thinning here? Another hell is the kill pedestrians mission in the airport like reaching the 4 or 8 in the tower is lime borderline luck or you needing to abuse the lightning power up and get lucky.
>>12008114>putting Max Damage above the original"no">I can finish the races however some of the missions are borderline EVIL.The antenna one is dogshit. I honestly don't understand why Stainless put missions in for II. If only SCI hadn't rushed them for a Chrismas release.
>>12008118>"no"Why not?Serious question? It is literally like C1>No missions>The "Missions" are optional and actually fun modes>There is a mechanic where you buy weapons/power upsI liked that. You defend C2 or TDR being above Reincarnation!
>>12008118>I honestly don't understand why Stainless put missions in for IISee >>12008126It be good if the missions where optional like in reincarnations. They are NOT!>The antenna one is dogshitYea shit. However I can make it.I remember literally failing to drive my car into that fucken airplane control tower either not getting in or my car flipping over or some other bullshit!
>>12008126>You defend C2 or TDR being above Reincarnation! As >>12005898 says Carma II is absolutely great for modding, Reincarnation less so. I've never played TDR but given what I've seen of it, it can stay in the bin..
>>12008140>Carma II is absolutely great for moddingNever got into modding. How do I do this?PS: I boycott nexus accounts and other cloud shits needed to install mods.
>>12008143It's been a very long time since I did anything regarding Carma II modding. This has an alright summary on the subject: https://carmageddon.fandom.com/wiki/Customizing
>>12008156I like to know more sir.
>>12008170I would link you to the CWA Board but the site's gone down for some reason.
>>12007910It's part of the foundry stage from R-Type III, R-Type stage 6 is more forgiving because you can survive by hugging the ground. The foundry leaves no room for error, and once you beat the miniboss at the end, it makes you do the whole thing again in reverse.
>>12008179Oh wait, it's working again: https://www.cwaboard.co.uk/
>>12008179>>12008234WOW thanks...Only WTF did I just walk into?
>>120081795000+ bots tried to scrape the forum simultaneously.>>12008248Sadly tutorials and links haven't been updated in a good ten years, so you might end up on 404 pages even though content as been moved and still up.Basically, grab the vanilla c2 mini-pack from here https://rr2000.cwaboard.co.uk/carmageddon-2#modsThe whole game content is extracted and moddable. Just grab and install nGlide or dgVoodoo if you haven't got them installed yet. Then you can roam around the fan sites that are still up and download and install various addons/mods.Some ideas to get you going are listed in the old infographic (picrel). Most links should redirect alright, but MacCarpocalypse which is now located there https://maccarpocalypse.cwaboard.co.ukMost addons just require you extract the content of the zip into the root directory of the game then either use Carstockalypse to enable/disable addon cars or manually copy/paste stuff in some text files, usually explained in readme files. You need a completed savegame to easily access all levels and cars.I really should update that infographic and all the fukken links
>>12008287Interesting.Is there anything other then a new car mod in there? Like things who change the game fundamentally etc?
>>12008307As there was no source code release, there is a limit to what can be done. A lot of aspects are hardcoded. One of the TCs is basically a Destruction Derby 2 port. Another one (Truck Me, picrel) tries to do clever things to add trailers into the game. Some mods mess with the physics, though you can directly tweak that yourself too. There's a banger racing mod. You get the idea, all centred around vehicles and collisions. And yes 95% of mods are addon cars. Modding the game was very popular 25 years ago because of its impressive crushing (dynamic deformation and cars falling apart).
>>12008248>>12008287Only version I'd had any luck running at an acceptable framerate has been the latest GoG one and even then it's not smooth. There was a mobile port briefly that ran full 60fps that was supposed to be really good but has since disappeared. I hate being that precious but I'm just used to 60fps now. Anyway, I'd appreciate updates on how anyone gets on.
>>12008340 Carmageddon 1?I suppose there might be ways to run the Android port with great perfomance in a VM? I'm not up to date on this, but programs like Bluestacks.I use the Meld Pack but I don't check the framerate really. Just had a look and the internal counter shows it around 60 while in FWVGA mode (845*480) but I don't know how reliable that is.
>>12008381Ok, interesting - last time i used this is was a load of crap with missing sky and the level select completely buggered but this is great. Thank you!
>>12008437I forgot to mention Dethrace. YMMV but if it works properly on your system, framerate should be high https://github.com/dethrace-labs/dethracepic unrelated kinda
>>12008639Yes, I saw this the other week but wasn't fo rme. No, this Meld Pack thing is amazing - I've stuck reshade on it with gay-ass scanlines and obnoxious bloom and I'm having a jolly nice time. Thanks anon, you've made my day!
