Was it the hardest RE game on earth?
>>
I know it's hard to believe, but it was definitely the hardest Resident Evil game when it was released.
>>
I've seen this exact same thread like a week ago or so. The hardest RE games are the one you posted and 0
>>
On Earth? What a weird way for your translation software to word that question.

Mikami stated that he deliberately made the US versions harder than JP.

>The U.S. version is more difficult than the Japanese version, so much more so that even the R&D staff couldn't make it to the end of the game unless they played very carefully. The U.S. staff asked us to create this more difficult version so that the game could be rented in the U.S. If the game could be completed in a few days, fewer units of the game would sell.

>Easiest (Japanese difficulty)
Biohazard JP [SLPS-00222]
Resident Evil Director's Cut Standard Mode [SLUS-00551]

>Normal (USA difficulty)
Resident Evil USA [SLUS-00170]

>Hardest
Resident Evil Director's Cut Advanced Mode [SLUS-00551]

RE2 USA and RE3 USA are harder than their Japanese counterparts.
Code Veronica, REmake and RE0 are the same across USA and JP.
RE4 USA (Gamecube only) is slightly tweaked version of the original RE4 JP/EU version.
RE5 and RE6 are the same across USA and JP.

Same thread over and over.

Crazy how the US version of RE2 is harder than the JP one and it's still piss easy

This is the reverse of the logic which was used to give American players a map for Zelda.

>Japanese players get bored with a game more easily. If they get too frustrated, they'll quit the game
Damn, you guys told me
>you will never be Japanese
Well guess what I AM Japanese

Same for Phantasy Star II
>>

The context of this is that the main market in Japan has always been predominantly little kids for major consoles. Market for America began to skew older over time, and is even older now. Current data suggests the average gamer is high income and mid-life or older. Japanese current gamer is a small child with a Switch. Go check Famicom data. Big Playstation games sell like 60k their first week. Almost no normal adults are playing games unless it is with their kids.

What difficulty is Saturn and Deadly Silence?
>>
>>12005847
If we are sticking strictly to /vr/ and mainline, it's up there, but taking the entire series as a whole, not even close. Outbreak and RE4 (On pro) are harder.
>>
>>12005978
RE4 you will die more, but with the way the games play, I dunno if I would say it is harder.
>>
>>12005974
US Saturn uses the original US release on PS1 while the JP Saturn is the JP PS1 release. Every US port afterwards moves back to the original JP release while adding their own "arranged" mode.
>>
>>12005991
The only really hard section in US RE1 is the second mansion trip when it's filled with Hunters. After that, the difficulty significantly drops while there are multiple chapters in RE4 where the game can get really challenging. Especially the final set of chapters when they start using guns.
>>
Probably one of the PS2 online games, played with AI partners. Or one of the janky side game games, like the light gun game where you can't use a light gun.
>>
>>12006002
RE1 is harder at first and easier to master if you know the strategies. RE4 you can beat by just persisting and not really be fucked but is harder to master. Another example is MGS2, I wouldn't say it is harder than RE1, but beating Harrier or Vamp or the Rays is definitely harder than any one instance in RE1
>>
>>12005847
RE1 is not hard. Revs 1 is harder (for bad reasons)
>>

Mikami is talking out of his ass 90% of the time. You would know this if you weren't just cherry picking to reinforce your bullshit.

0 is the hardest classic game followed by CV
>>
>>12006723
>0 is the hardest classic game followed by CV
Funny how both are hard just because the games are designed like crap.
>>
>>12006771
CV is pretty easy and the game gives you a ton of weapons

You don't even need the B.O.W. grenades for the tyrant or the magnum
>>
>>12006787
It's pretty easy if you've played it before and know exactly what to do*

Fixed that for you.

Not just on Earth, but in the universe, and of all time! :O

It's entirely possible this is the only thing resembling a video game and called Resident Evil. Your dryer will never fold your laundry.
