Earthbound is a great example. Could you recommend some for a 56-year-old hikikomori? Thanks.

>>12007336>Tomba!Thank you very much for this recommendation. I'm playing it right now
>>12007708Enjoy, it's a cozy fun game
>>12007326How are we supposed to know your tastes when all you say is that EarthBound would be a good recommendation? Being agoraphobic doesn't really predispose you toward particular genres, does it?
>>12007605I have reviewed both, and I am confident that I am not in violation of either. On the contrary, it appears that you are the one not adhering to global rule number 7.>>12007668It seems I have been fairly called out. My intention was simply to create a thread about games that might appeal to people with a lifestyle similar to mine. I must admit, most of us share common experiences, but I have observed that the younger individuals tend to be the most insulting. I thought it would be a good idea to create this thread, but I have failed miserably in its execution.>>12007779My tastes don't matter. Just recommend or talk about a game, and that would be enough. I understand, "hikikomori" is a buzzword after all. I probably should have started this thread focusing on games someone could play for hours on end and shared my experience playing Earthbound, since it's the most recent game I've completed. I admit, mistakes were made.===I'm still playing Tomba! It's weird; it's one of those games I've read about in forums and online but never thought I would try, similar to Dreamcast's E.G.G. I'm not sure how long it will take me to beat it, but it's fun and immersive in a way that makes me feel comfortable playing it.
>>12007321>>hikikomori
>>12007868>>12007321This guys obviously an old gook, his English is shit.
>>12007326>This is 4chan, where the vast majority are into Japanese stuff. All of that ended by 2014. Now it's just poorly emulating games while wearing a dress.Man, I'm so glad I experienced gaming before it got ruined.
>>12007842Well what did you play before finishing EarthBound? Personally I tend to be most immersed (as an adult) for hours on end in "one more turn" games like Civilization or whichever roguelike annoys me the least at the moment. (As a kid I was most enchanted with JRPGs, but somewhere along the line I guess I accidentally ate of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil and now I am unfortunately cursed with a desire for challenging games.)
>>12007931>Man, I'm so glad I experienced gaming before it got ruined.Current gaming may have its flaws, but the past remains unchangeable and always accessible for revisiting. Over time, it has become increasingly easier to explore gaming history. Emulation, both in software and hardware, has made remarkable progress, offering greater accessibility. Two decades ago, the idea of emulating complex consoles like the N64 or Saturn on a phone seemed unimaginable. Projects like MiSTer are truly impressive. Let's try to look at the brightside.>>12008329>Well what did you play before finishing EarthBound?Fire Emblem Gaiden. An individual known as "Lopo" enhanced Artemis' work by incorporating a font created by another person.https://forums.serenesforest.net/topic/97653-fe-gaiden-updated-namesfont-patch/The game is distinctive, as it takes players across Valentia, where we assume the role of a strategist for two separate squadrons that, for their own reasons, have chosen different paths while pursuing the same objective. As a Fire Emblem entry, it stands out, and I found it highly enjoyable. The game offers a challenging experience with a well-paced progression, surprising events, delightful music and sound, and gameplay that is both engaging and experimental for a Fire Emblem entry. It also includes RPG elements that deviate from the typical Fire Emblem formula. Although I considered trying Berwick Saga, I decided against it to avoid SRPG fatigue. I'm grateful to whoever recommended Tomba!.
I love how on 4chan people constantly complain about the soullessness of normies, but the moment someone displays any kind of naivety they see it as their cue to jump on him like rabid dogs.>>12007842I you are genuine, OP, you could play the translated Lain game, search "psx lain", its a visual novel, the themes will resonate.
>>12007317>I've beaten it multiple times, but thanks anyway. Then play it again, not like you're going anywhere anyhow.
How does EarthBound count? It is a game about kids who go outside and have friends.
