I bought the Retroscaler 2x off AliExpress for like $36 on sale. I think it's supposed to be a clone of an earlier RetroTink. It's good enough for my use case, I don't even have a 4K modern TV.

I am looking to recapture some gameplay, as I heard the higher quality codecs on youtube prefers 4k footage. I got the Retrotink4k in preparation for that reason but lack any capture solution able to do that high of resolution. The only 4k capture card I know of is from Avermedia, but are there any better alternatives? I'm stuck on Sandy/Ivy Bridge architectures as it is all I can afford, is that enough for video processing in 4k or do I need upgrades to make the 4k retro gaming content?

I think the brightness difference has to do with how mine is tuned. I'm using an RGB limited color space. I'm messing with some HDR settings I have and I think it's looking nicer with HDR on. Also your deinterlacing is really good.

how does the retrotink 4k ce compare to both 5x pro and morph4k ?
If you're playing on original consoles you should not be playing on a 60 inch flat screen and paying 500+ dollars for the privilege to do so.You should max out at 20 inches unless using crt.if you're playing on giant flatscreens you should be using EMULATORS which have built in upscalers and look a million timers better.
