I bought controllers that looked identical to those ones around 15 years ago. They worked okay, but the analog sticks lasted 3-4 weeks at most. I'd use the left stick but not the right, so I'd swap them around when left broke until both were unusable. They were extremely cheap so I had the bright idea of defeating the stick issue by buying the controllers in bulk. I bought 10 of them in a batch and used 2 more before stopping to ask myself what the fuck I was doing. I then bought a 360 controller which lasted over a decade before I finally gave up on it.

LOL, my Dad got one of those and it's absolute garbage. It came with these cheap DualSense ripoffs that were so light you could lift then with a couple finger. (Not to mention every game was LOOKIN' GOOD.)

is good i have one, most complaining are because this made the mister and similar fpga irrelevant (why would someone spend hundreds of dollar on a system that has similar performance and play similar to a game stick that comes with games included).
Also there is a difference the X1 is using a linux system and almost running emulators on raw hardware so will be faster and better (wait wasn't that the whole point of mister and similar... HAHAHAHAH!!).

There's an updated version (Gamestick X9 Pro) that has better specs than the 4k Lite, it can play N64, DC, NDS and PSP too (performance ranges from playable to laggy, mostly on PSP games).
Was also reading that the SD Card is very shitty (expected) and that you cannot clone it to a better one.

not really it depends on what is on the OS for the hardware.
some OS versions have more modern support due to better hardware while other have less modern but still enjoyable selection of games.
for example the X9 whil some assume is better in reality is the same as the X1 but with worse heat managing since is a locked box with no heatsink.

You're better off getting a Raspberry Pi or other SBC, they're a bit more expensive and require a bit more setup (though as long as you're not completely tech illiterate you'll be fine), but you get a more powerful machine and much better community support.

I watched a review of the 4K Lite and from what I saw the performance is the same as installing Retroarch on a Chromecast (nes, gb and genesis are ok and the rest is laggy) or buying one of those super cheap retro handhelds that have KoF characters on the cover.
The X9 Pro seems on par with a R36S Handheld in terms of performance and emulation quality, no idea if there's newer builds.

I got one, can’t test it tho as it doesn’t fit into any of the 5 flat screens in the house. If I find a compatible tv id be happy to test it out and give feedback but as it is, to bulky so u need your hdmi in a very specific spot on a tv just to hook it up. The controllers feel cheap but I’ve been using a similarly cheap ps3 controller I got for 15 and while not as comfy as an official it literally has no impact on my gameplay. Much like those AliExpress 7 dollar n64 pads which I’ve been using w no issues for OoT, Star Fox 64 and MK64. I still haven’t done my test of the 80 dollar wireless OEM 64 controller vs the Ali express 7 dollar one but when I do I’ll post it on here.

I mostly play emulators on my PC, on a 1ms monitor with a wired DS4 pad
But I have a ton of emulators on my phone as well, up to the ps2.
I just pair my DS4 and go for it. Battery doesn't drain nearly as fast as actual Android games, the phone never heats up.

DS4 makes it much better, and I play over bluetooth and have no noticable delay if the emulator is good (some lag like shit). What gen do you go up to on phone because on Xperia my shit starts Gordon Ramsey'ing if you get too high up, although I upgraded about 3 months ago and not so bad (screen failure on last phone due to cooking). Also, airplane mode with bluetooth still on helps and the ultimate measure is no SIM care (anyone who has never tried it, your phone runs way faster and uses way less battery without a SIM in).
