>boomers love him>millenials love him>zoomers love himWhat is it about Bubsy that makes him such a timeless character beloved by all?
>>12012426sex appeal
I'm sorry your second reply had to be me but>boomers love him>zoomers love himdo they? Does anyone even remember poor Bubsy except for most millennial males? Is he not remembered mainly for his failed potential and his awful 3D adventure?Don't get me wrong, I am a great Claws Encounter enjoyer, and I love what a forceful and blatant attempt he was to become Nintendo Sonic, but alas, the winds of fate are cruel.
I know you're joking, but the hate Bubsy gets is absolutely unwarranted. Bubsy 1 and 2 were pretty decent games. Not perfect but not bad by any means. But now he's been memed into oblivion by idiot zoomers who think the franchise is complete shit through and through.Sent from my iPhone
>>12012470Busby 1 was flawed but playable, fun, and challenging, but every time I've tried to play 2 as an adult I am just shocked by what a janky mess it is. Conceptually and gameplay-wise it just feels insane, like the devs were cranked out on uppers and working separately, and threw it all together at the last minute. It made the first one seem like SMW.That said, I rented it many times as a kid because Bubsy, but I never once even considered buying it, despite owning the original.
>>12012470>the hate Bubsy gets is absolutely unwarrantedLOOK at him.
Boomers don't care about himMillennials found him annoying with maybe one decent gameZoomers only like him because irony, and maybe queer shit
>>12012505I am. And he's wicked cool.
Lots of people have a toxic mindset that catastrophizes even consequence-free failure, so they can't just laugh at the funny oopsie animations and enjoy the challenge
I played Bubsy sometimes but didn't have it at home and I didn't want it because the cartridge made it seem like a bootleg game.
>>12012426bubsy looks like bugs bunny meets sonic the hedgehog
For the sake of posterity and education, I will now post the official Bubsy lore, lest you think the first game was not a complete work of art.
Move over Mario
>>12012584ayo, real quick...

>>12012606I want to crush every character in this comic in my fist.
How is Fractured Furry Tales?
It's weird but I think Bubsy would've made me gay if I was subjected to his games when my mind was developing. I'm glad to have never crossed paths with this bobcat.
bubsy is funny ironically because hes dogshit with shitty humor. nobody actually *likes* him
shill thread
>>12012426Forced post.
>>12012606Surprisingly high effort and mildly charming for a Bubsy comic.
>>12012606Throw in the comic for Bubsy 2 next.
>>12012456Yeah vast majority of boomers don't care about Bubsy except maybe watching their millennial kids play the game. Zoomers love him more ironically, as they didn't grow up playing and somewhat enjoying the first game.
>>12013135This, it's not even like Gex where a good fraction of his games are unironically enjoyed and you hear a quote and say "Haha, I remember Nick @ Nite being good!"
It looks like Bubsy 4D is going to be good, Who forgot to let Fabraz in on the joke? They were *supposed* to make a shitpost game but they didn't and now they have destroyed a precious vidya meme. Worse we're going to get even more Bubsy if this thing is successful. Worse yet the new Bubsy is now furfag shit, good god.
>>12014317>Worse we're going to get even more Bubsy if this thing is successful.I, for one, embrace this possible future where Bubsy becomes an unironically beloved series.
>>12014317Why is Bubsy so hot now? Bubsy anime when?
>>12014324>I, for one, embrace this possible future where Bubsy becomes an unironically beloved series. Sonic is shit, Bubsy is good. Peak clown world.
>>12014332>I lived long enough to see millions lusting for Bubsy on the internet
>>12012426I think it's because he had so much voice acting? Mario and sonic are all but mute in their older games.
>>12014317>>12014324>>12014332You don't care outside of ironic memes.
>>12013204Nothing new for Infogrames, they have no standards as to what they're shilling.
>>boomers love him>>millenials love him>>zoomers love him>What is it about Bubsy that makes him such a timeless character beloved by all?lol lmao even
>>12014621>Limited Run GamesGood, I'm glad it's got as few players as it has. You could easily play the whole collection by using Retroarch. (Or BigPEmu if you REALLY care about Fractured Furry Tales for some reason.)
>>12012426I don't think anyone likes Bubsy unironically.
>>12012426you forgot>trannies love her
I just wish the guy who made this VR spoof would've filled up the roster. We had Bubsy, Phalanx, Trevor (/vr/ board tan), and Turbografx Bomberman so far.>>12014332>Why is Bubsy so hot now?He now has a middle age hot dad body type.>>12014317Atari asked for developers to pitch a new game that has a twist on the property, because "the last thing anyone wants is a really generic platformer" (actual quote by Atari CEO). The trailer even has Bubsy breaking down in PTSD whenever he recalls Bubsy 3D, you can even unlock a Bubsy 3D model AND TANK CONTROLS to match. So the developers are very much in on the joke.
>>12014982If bubsy was like this it might actually have sold
>>12014621Sorry Steamcuck, but people love Bubsy so much that they're all buying physical copies to go with the rest of their Bubsy collection.
>>12013135>>12013467>>12014818Ok I know OP was joking about his popularity but I don't get this hate. I could never muster a negative thought about "Bubsy" the character outside of other people saying so. If you asked me as a kid if I liked him, obviously I'd have said yes given the first game, but as an adult I have to say yes too given the soulless dogshit protagonists of the last X years. Yes, Bubsy was also a blatant corporate gimmick, but one at least imbued with the irreverent charm and aesthetic of the 90's.I'd go as far as to say Bubsy 1 was a great game for the SNES. Sure, obviously flawed but with a completely unique feel and aesthetic with a ton of ways to get through the levels. You've also got a high-score meta-game, massive speedrun potential, a coherent physics, a diversity of obstacles and enemies, etc.Bubsy will never have the stoic appeal of Mario or the koolness of Sonic, but he will always be exactly what he needs to be at all times: Bubsy: Immutable, Inimitable, and Indominable. Yeah, he only had one good game, but how many more do you need?
