Let me guess, you "need" more.
>>12013794no that roster is pretty big
>>12013794I actually need less. Less broken infinite combos like Akuma nonsense.
Well, I've got more, so necessity is kind of moot.
Yes, I need novel threads relying less on template catchphrases that are beaten to death.
I need less, actually
Never liked the super moves in Alpha. The roster is pretty damn awesome (apart from Akuma), but the game lacks cool supers.
>>12013816welcome to nu/vr/
i don't need more than special championship edition. anything past that is unnecessary.
>>12013880thats a genesis game
>>12013889and the last good one in the series. your point?
>>12013815Ingrid looks so out of place compared to the rest of the roster.I don't even hate Ingrid in and of herself, I just think her PS2 sprite doesn't match with the CPS2 sprites of the other characters in this game.
>>12014401>her PS2 sprite doesn't match with the CPS2 spritesYeah, that's been pretty well-noted since A3 MAX. To be fair, they only brought Ingrid back as cross-promotion for her return in SF6.
>>12013794I don't>>12013815But this is still neat.
>>12013794I don't need more, I need different.
>>12013794I need less but a bit of filler too. (and more ass.)
>>12013794>>12014429The Capcom vs. SNK series was spawned by the pitting of these two exact games against each other, an Arcadia magazine cover with "Street Fighter vs. King of Fighters" to tease the issue containing reviews for both, which got people buzzing about it being an actual game. So /vr/, which is better, SFA3 or KoF '98? >>12013815>let's make Yun our SF3 rep in CvS2 and by extension SFA3 Max>a character known for his special custom combo super, in two games that each have designated custom combo grooves WHAT were they THEENKING
>>12015121>a character known for his special custom combo superWas he already known for his special custom combo super back then? I remember it took until Tokido traveled to America for Americans to discover Urien's aegis reflector was useful. I also imagine that designers wanted all 3 supers for every character to be equally useful instead of what actually happened where a lot of characters are known for their 1 useful super.
>>12014401I agree and always thought the same about Karin. Really to me they both just look TOO "anime" even though I know that's sorta Alpha's shtick within the SF franchise but it's still too far with them. If I can't imagine a SF character being in World Warrior then they don't fit for me.
>>12015169That's a good question. I want to say I've heard somewhere Yang's Seiei Enbu was more notorious before Genei Jin got cracked open, but don't quote me on that.
>>12015204>If I can't imagine a SF character being in World Warrior then they don't fit for meYou must hate SFIII's cast
>>12015121As a competitive fighter, a3, but it's closeAs an arcade game, kof98, but it's close (it wouldn't be close if it was 97)
>>12013815Why was it Maki, Yun, Eagle, and INGRID added to the PSP version of A3? Would it make more sense if it was Maki, Yun, Eagle, and KYOUSUKE instead since all four were part of CvS2 and Rival Schools already taking place in the Street Fighter universe?
>>12014401The MAX characters also have more vocalizations than the A3 characters, I noticed (as in they more frequently use their voice clips, particularly when being hit).
LessAlpha 3 ISMS are not that great.Alpha 2 is where it is at.
>>12015925Probably just to get more use out of that Ingrid sprite.Honestly I'm kind of glad she got to see more light of day than just Capcom Fighting Evolution, which is a lousy game.
>>12013794>>12013815I appreciate Maki being in the game. The other three are sort of whatever.Pretty sure Yun's inclusion is anachronistic though, he should probably be a kid in the Alpha timeframe. Wonder why they didn't use Kyosuke instead, as long as they're just porting CvS characters.
>>12015930>press 3 buttons in footsie range>enemy cant block>do a pussy easy sweep, tatsu srk ender bnb>do 70% damage>end the round with a tick throw or an alpha counter that does like 15% damage the actual gameplay is quite boring. it lacks a lot of interesting features like guard breaks, air juggles and air recoveries. at this point you can pretty much just play st
>>12016029>>12013815Honestly, of the three OCs designed for Capcom Fighting All-Stars, Ingrid was the best designed of the bunch. I understand why it was her that was salvaged for CFE and not Rook or D.D.
>press button>round stolenwoooooooooooow
>>12013794yes, might as well tie them into alpha too
>>12017685That's on you for not going on defense upon seeing Bison's full super meter.
>>12017685shin bison is so ridiculously weak as a characterlike how the fuck do you need to spend your entire meter on Xism just to antiair lmoa
I hate how the best version of Alpha 3 (PSP) doesn't have in-game character move lists.
>>12013815Good news: Capcom just released a patch to fix all the jank that came with the MAX characters!https://www.capcom-games.com/cfc2/en-us/patch/
>>12017951Does A3 on the collection have all the modes from the PSP version?
>>12017961Everything except World Tour, though some are locked behind button combinations at the title screen.
>>12017963Thanks for the answer anon, but>everything except the best singleplayer mode in the history of fighting gamesWhat the fuck is wrong with Capcom
>>12016082I'm surprised that there's little fan art of her.
>>12017971>best singleplayer mode in the history of fighting gamescome on now. It's fine for what it is but let's not get crazy. It doesn't hold a candle to any of the Soul Calibur stuff or even other capcom stuff like Rival Schools
>>12013794Is this the best single player 2d fighter simply because of all the modes and unlockables?
>>12013794I need less. Remove boring trash like E Honda, Dhalsim, T. Hawk, and Blanka, for starters. The ideal SF roster would have far fewer SF2 characters.
>>12018006>The ideal SF roster would have far fewer of the characters that made SF popular in the first placedidn't work for SF3
>>12018015I'm not an investor or a slave, so I don't care about whether normalfags pay attention to something. SF3 has a great roster, and that's mainly because they took the trash out.
>>12018017sf3 newcomers mostly don't even fit street fighter, they're not bad but it's like they came from a completely different series
>>12018020Depends what your idea of "street fighter" even is. I really don't get how any of the SF3 characters don't fit in, sure there are a few wildcards like Q, Oro, and Twelve but most of them aren't too out there and a few of them are just way cooler versions of older SF characters.
>>12018024https://www.polygon.com/2020/12/8/22151873/street-fighter-3-an-oral-history/>If you look at games like Street Fighter Alpha, Alpha 2, and Alpha 3, they sold very well. And as you already know, they had familiar characters like Zangief, Blanka, and E. Honda that the fans really wanted to see. Just having those legendary Street Fighter 2 characters was enough for those games to sell very well. But because Street Fighter 3 had started out as an entirely different game, they had a totally new cast of characters, which nobody liked. The problem was that the characters had very uninspired designs, and I would say they were quite strange in comparison. If you think about the fact that we moved on to the CPS-3 arcade hardware for this game, I think people wanted to see Vega, E. Honda, etc. created on that new hardware with the technology it offered.>Shinichiro Obata - (Street Fighter 3 planner, Capcom Japan)>I think it was lacking characters with traditional martial arts styles like judo and karate. I mean, come on. To have a guy with stretchy arms and he's an Indian yogi, OK, that's believable; that's recognizable. But a guy who's just straight rubber ... ? It's like they were almost sci-fi. It didn't really feel like an authentic Street Fighter game. I don't think the game had characters that felt like they belonged in a Street Fighter game. I mentioned Necro [the character who stretches like he's made of rubber], and I personally like Necro as a character, but that's not Street Fighter.>Actually, if I had to change the past, I'd rather just not have worked on that game at all.>Akira Yasuda - (Street Fighter 3 artist, Capcom Japan)People at Capcom who worked on the game in the first place didn't think they fit
>>12018051>These characters don't fit SF>Why not>Well one of the artists said they don't fit SFDo you ever have your own thoughts and opinions or do you just download articles you've read into your brain and go around repeating information from them everywhere
>>12018051>But a guy who's just straight rubber ... ?Oh he's talking about dhalsim here. I got confused for a second.
>>12018051yeah, these summed up my thoughts pretty well. necro and twelve feel like something out of a sci-fi game>>12018060>one of the artists>doesn't know fucking akimanthis is just sad
>>12018060>I really don't get how any of the SF3 characters don't fit in>*sees article where the people who created the game say the designs are uninspired and that they should have put more martial artists in, answering the question*>well you're just repeating information you read! Also it was not just their opinions, it was most people's. If people wanted a fighting game without SF2 characters, they would be playing any of the many SF clones and rivals that were out
>>12018072Obviously I know who Akiman is, retard. I said "one of the artists" because that's what he fucking was. >>12018076>>*sees article where the people who created the game say the designs are uninspired and that they should have put more martial artists in, answering the question*How does that answer the question? Because some of the SF3 characters aren't martial artists, they don't belong in SF? >Also it was not just their opinions, it was most people'sWho cares what most people think?
>>12018051>The SF3 cast doesn't fit SF because they're not martial artistsThe majority of them are martial artists, and many of them stick closer to the martial art they're designed around than the SF2 characters did. There are obviously the weirdos like Oro, Twelve, Q, and Necro, but that's ignoring the other 70% of the newcomers.
>>12018051>>12018091Neco and Oro look like they could be Darkstalkers characters.Q and Twelve look like they should be in some hyper sci-fi setting, maybe something Guilty Gear even. The other characters fit in SF just fine, it's just that some of them were rather uninspired designs. I don't think Alex, Sean and specially Remy are the favorite characters of a lot of people.Yun/Yang and Hugo are okay. Dudley I think is largely saved by his voice. The girls are all fine, I'm sure Ibuki and Makoto became waifus to a lot of people. Elena is probably not as waifable due to how exotic she is but her animations make her stand out.
>>12015925At the time I feel like Capcom wasn't quite ready to say Rival Schools absolutely was inside the SF universe like Final Fight is. Sakura being in Rival Schools could be written off as an AU rather than an actual connection between the series. It wasn't until SF5 including Akira that they finally tore down the wall fully.
>>12018051I love the 3rd Strike scrimblos. But I would have loved to see characters I play like Sagat or Guile getting as much love as Chun Li did in that game.
>>12018076They could play Alpha 3.
>>12013816Truke (it was a dud)
>>12018006Blanka can stay.
>>12015204Sakura?
