I never got it when I first rented it. Hit the person 5 times to get a candle? Fuck that.

This game was crazy as it dropped the same year as zelda and metroid, and I played it before either of those games. Goonies was at the time the most complicated adventure game I ever played in my life, previous experience being things like "venture" on colecovision, and the first kings quest.

I only beat goonies later on after Nintendo published a guide for it in the official guidebook.
