The best castlevania in the series even better than symphony of the night.
Egoraptor really ruined the discourse on this game.
>>12015243How? I thought oneyplays was fucking boring and his flash animations too.
>>12015243People would probably be skeptical now but Super CV4 used to often make people's all-time Top 10 lists, and now underlying consensus seems to be that it isn't very good, and that's because it's too easy? Which is a load of crap. Maybe not as hard as the NES games but it doesn't matter that you can whip in eight directions when pits are going to kill you more than anything. You could definitely make a case for it being harder than Rondo and people love that game.
>>12015261Its not really easier, the controls are just so much better compared to the previous ones. The best controlling castlevania in the series.
>>12015281That used to be common sentiment too. Some even talked about struggling to go back to the other games without multi-directional whipping. CV as a series has an interesting reputation over the years. People weren't always crazy about the fixed jumps that help make old CV gameplay as tightly formulated as it is, most simply tolerated them. So Super CV4 remedying that + multi-directional whip = objective improvement to a lot of people before.
Bloodlines edges it out, but still one of the greats. Definitely better than trash like Rondo.
>>12015331I never got into Bloodlines. I didn't think it was bad, I guess it just seemed like a retread of CV3, which I'd already pored over. But that's funny because I have no problem playing Dracula X for SNES (I feel like there's gotta be a better way to shorthand that), and that lifts the whole-ass first level wholesale. Both two of my favorites. I need to give Bloodlines another try.
My favorite Castlevania is the only good one
