What are the absolute best mecha games for /vr/?
>>12019612I only played the demo, but R.A.D. for the PS2 seemed pretty dope. The voice acting is atrocious, though.
S.L.A.I. is slept on, and it is great
>>12019612I recommend:Zone of the Enders: Anubis/The 2nd Runnerhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LMo9TEW04wAssault Suits Valken/CybernatorAssault Suit Leynos 1 & 2 and 1's remake.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QvEZOU_xj4https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YT-43bRd58EArmored Hunter Gunhound EX (sadly delisted from Steam a while ago, but you can still find it on the internet)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uVt3MadsM8https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6szF5IMX6kFront Mission: Gun HazardThe Armored Core series (nuff said)
>>12019983Almost forgot:>>12019612The Front Mission mainline games, specially the 3rd one.
>>12019983>>12019991More:FM3 trailerhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVHQz61rOgEThe Virtual On games.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ut4ky_R2chYAnd depending if you like certain mecha anime franchises, there are some Macross and Gundam games that might interest you (I personally recommend Macross Plus for Playstation).
>>12019612Nothing to choose from. The mecha game is only one.The issue with japanese they do awesome anime dramas/psychology horrors etc. everything human, but just as much are incapable of anything machines. Any proper machines games are western: Battletech (SMD), Strike series (SMD), Armored Fist series, Mechwarrior, Shattered Steel etc.And the most is Japanese are capable to do are stupid cardboard toy shooters such as ZOE, or absolutely godawful trash like Armored Core.
>>12020014>but just as much are incapable of anything machines.I present you the Steel Battalion franchisehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGgxRsaGdcA
>>12020014>japan bad
>>12020014Armored Core got good on PS3 with non-retarded controls.
>>12019983>>12020017This.>>12019612I remembered another one: Metal Wolf Chaos.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yG1HahKYZzc
>>12020029Why are you on the retro board? lol
>>12020017Nice american Microsoft Corporation's Xbox advertising product.
>>12020125>americanhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steel_BattalionBut yeah, the first two Xbox consoles had decent japanese third party support (specially the 360). I blame Don Mattrick for fumbling the Xbone's launch and killing most of the goodwill they had amassed. And then Sony shot itself in the foot some time later.
>>12020530Nice.
>>12019612this game is slept on too hard
>>12020017isn't that just simulator for gundam and kuratas 01 (real commercially available robot).
>>12021408You have no idea what you're talking about.
Armored Warriors.
>>12021408No. But I wish something like that existed and was available to the general public.
>>12021564i do know hence wondering if is gundam simulator kit since controls are the same.>>12021931kuratas 01 is a robot released in 2015/16 can't recall the date, it was sold for anyone i think was 600 millions yens for basic setup with a military setup costing more but requiring permits, the control system was well it had 2.>gundam layout : gundam kinda controllers with two sticks, 3 pedals and configuration buttons as well all the other needs.>killballad layout : mobile app to control kuratas via your phone like in robotic notes anime.if i have the money i would have bought it without a second doubt since was sold even on amazon japan.
Endless Waltz for a pretty good side scrolling versus fighting game with mechas.Armored Core for that sweet spot between military sim and arcade action.>>12020029IIRC Armored Core got analog controls with Nine Breaker and that can be patched into previous AC third gen episodes.
>>12019618disc 1, at least.just consider the game finished at the end o disc 1 and be content with that . you'll be happier that way.
>>12021971>i do know hence wondering if is gundam simulator kit since controls are the sameNo, you don't.
>>12019612Man, I wish they made a modern Great Battle game with 4p local coop.Anyway, I haven't seen anyone mention Metal Warriors yet, that one was pretty cool with the ability to exist your suit and grab another one.Another one I really liked on the SNES was SD Gundam X, iirc. It was like a SD G Gundam Generation game, but with real time mobile suit combat when mobile suits attacked each other. IIRC the spiritual successor to this was SD Gundam Gachapon Wars on GC or Wii.
>>12020142This is advertisement, not support by making games. As you can see, game made to look cool but to absolutely prevent anyone to play it. This is an AD, not a game. The purpose of an AD is to create cool illusion of cool console, not to make a game intended to be played. This 'thing' is clearly intended NOT to be played judging by hard exclusive and absurdly over-engineered and overpriced controller requirement. No player will boy it, this is obvious, only businesses will acquire it to advertise coolness of Microsoft console. So this is an american AD, not a japanese game.
>>12022840I love The Great Battle games. The G Generation games come from the Gachapon Senshi games ("Gachapon Generation"), been playing a lot of the fifth one but recently went back to the fourth. The mechanics in these games are simple but fun. It's a shame the first 32-bit outing, G Century, was supposedly so bad it killed this series, but they had moved on to G Generation shortly after, and the rest is history.
