My dad did not pass away. This is his favorite game, though. Thoughts?
>>12023184He did or he didn't?
>>12023236He did not pass away. Thoughts?
>>12023184Thoughts on what? I am glad you still have your pop. I lost mine last year 4 days before Christmas.
>>12023184I always thought this guy was fat for some reason
>>12023184Did your dad have any other games he liked? because that one is not very good
>>12023184I've played this game last year, OP, there are some annoying parts but overall I did enjoy it, even though I haven't beaten it yet because I'm stuck after you unlock the rocket in the center of town in 'Knarf's Forest' which is just, ugh. Anywho, has your Pops ever beaten it?
>>12023184it's a pretty neat game. i think it gets kind of boring in the later half due to the levels becoming more mundane. earlire you get a museum, graveyard, and some other scrimblo spooky shit to match the goofy cryptid tone of the mc and then you get a dock area and some sewers after that. still pretty fun overall though. your dad is probably a decent guy.
>>12023184I finished PAL PS1 version when I was a kid and played a bit of NTSC PC versionI do think NTSC is overall superior to PAL (at the very least you never have to beat the first part of Port level three fucking times for 100% completion in NTSC version) but I felt that tutorials were unnecessary (even if devs probably added them because so many players were actually retarded) and hostages were unnecessary collectathon bloat.I do miss the PAL saving screen, Jersey Devil was one of my earliest PS1 titles (first one being Rayman 1) and I always loved these kind of save screens.I also have to agree with >>12023640 about level variety - museum is probably my favourite one, but not only each following level feels less fun to play through (at least most of second halves are usually much shorter) but the overall aesthetics kinda disappointed me with stuff like factory being full of airpipe platforming and docks being turtle sewers + crate galore. I just wish the game had more aesthetics from intro movie + museum level but alas.
>>12023184>>12023241not sure if bot or esl
I'd have given you my opinion about the game if you had made a normal thread instead of retarded meme speak that contribute in lowering the level of discourse on this board.
Played this game so much as a kid the disc just stopped working for me. Had the PAL version too and it blew my mind the American version was almost entirely different.
>>12023564He was a major platformer buff back when he was younger. He's absolutely completed more popular games, like Crash or SMB1, but Jersey Devil is still his fav.>>12023623>Anywho, has your Pops ever beaten it?Yep, 100%ed it too.
>>12025204>the American version was almost entirely different. What are their differences?
>>12023184>My dad did not pass away.sorry to hear that
>>12025289https://tcrf.net/Jersey_Devil_(PlayStation)There are no hostages to rescue and no tutorial loading screens in the PAL version, and the final bods of the PAL version is seemingly unfinished.
Got this game for my 7th birthday I think. It was too hard for me, I forgot where it was exactly that I got stuck, but I lost interest after a while. I honestly can't imagine what someone who claims Jersey Devil is their favorite game would be like.
>>12025383As a 7-year old, it was my favourite game ever, but I never completed it.
>>12025404Basically same story with me, desu. I've been meaning to play it as an adult to see just what about it stopped me from finishing it (besides my disc needed to be rebuffed). It got pretty mediocre scores so I think it may have just been a shitty game. Great opening video, though. FMV clips on the PS1 were always a delight:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U27tnx3Gvb0
