Do you think adding a Bow and Arrow item would have broken Zelda II combat? The bow (and boomerang) must have felt like an odd exclusion, no?
>>12025714No because everything strong would be immune to arrows and just make that "blocked by shield no damage" sound.
>>12025714The notion of "breaking" a game usually requires one that's balanced or works well to begin with op
>>12025743his shield is down though you'd get him in the throat
>>12026401Ah but you see, Zelda II's combat is broken and the visuals of where enemy shields are don't line up to where they're actually blocking! So no, OP, a bow wouldn't have solved the game's problem. What would have solved it is make it so the enemies play by the rules and you can legitimately hit them without abusing glitches.
>>12025714You've got to remember, Link wasn't really associated with the bow and arrow back then. It was just a random weapon among all his other weapons. (I suspect that Link being remembered as a bow and arrow user mainly happened due to this piece of official art being used on so much stuff)Although the fact that they picked the fucking raft, flute, and candle over the bombs and boomerang was definitely odd.
