Why did this manage to become a cult classic despite both Dark Seed 1 and 2 being janky shit? Did Dreamers Guild salvage it from Cyberdreams?
>>
The novel the game is based on is a classic which won awards, so that definitely helped. The game also vastly expanded on the story with help of the original author. It tackles heavy subjects and its theme is very dark with no happy end, at least for the main characters. The good ending itself is very hard to achieve and even if you manage to get it you basically have to wait around 500 years for Earth to become habitable again.
tl;dr it's bleak and depressing shit.

>Dark seed 1
>shit
Dark seed 1 is actually pretty good, 2 is pretty garbage though
No mouth has some jank, but ultimately the general consensus is that it's good
