It's still the best fighting game on any system, of all time.

won what?
>>
>>12029060
Grand Prix for Best Fighting Game Of All Time. The big one. Championship of the Universe.
>>
>>12029060
OP’s admiration.
>>
>>12029021
Did anybody figure out how to get the true ending on their own?
>>
>>12029021
Limb damage, changeable weapons, being able to run around the entire map during story mode, and a secret character with a fucking gun were awesome features. This probably is one of my most played fighting games.
>>
>>12029181
Throwing weapons, throwing dirt... there were so many cool aspects to the game. BB2 was considerably dumbed down compared to the original, as well. Which is a huge tragedy.

Somewhat realistic damage and deaths made it a lot more fun. And the fighting styles with all the various weapons were semi realistic. One of my mates was saber fencer and he sucked balls at and hated video games but he too to Bushido Blade and the saber like a duck to water, because it was realistic enough that it just clicked with him. It wasn't so much a video game but a melee combat simulator. Maybe that's why.

This is the type of game that gets people beat up in real life. We stopped playing it real quick.
>>
>>12029074
the way to get the true ending is right there in the game title
>>12029298
me and a buddy had a lot of fun with it back in the day, often doing matchups where i'd use the fastest girl character with the rapier and he'd use that strong slow guy with the sledgehammer, i wound up having to protect my rapier from getting hit cause if we clashed at all it'd throw me off balance long enough for him to kill me every time, but if he missed with an attack i could just kill him every time
what a great game it is
>>
>>12029298
It's great. Anything goes and the battles are brutally short if you're a newb.
>>
>>12029181
Seconded. This game is so overlooked it's insane. Bb1/2 are definitely underrated then deatrega too
>>
>>12029379
Destrega*
>>
>spam rapier
>counters EVERYTHING and eventually enemy runs into it
wow deep battle system
>>
>>12029445
>>spam rapier
why would you do this, all the weapons are fun in their own different ways
>>
What's the best way to play Playstation online for this?
>>
>>12029021
God the PSX was so good
>>
>>12029445
Actually naginata is the cheap weapon but they can all be countered.
>>
>>12029021
based and true
>>
>>12029367
not even if you're a newb
it's just a very lethal game where one mistake can cost you
>>
>>12029876
yup
when me and my buddy played it a lot at first nearly every battle ended quickly, then after a while they were all long drawn out battles, before finally settling into fights either ending in the first clash or lasting 10+ minutes

>>12030341
Take it up with >>12029445
>>
>use nodachi
>hold down
>press o
>enemy lost the use of his legs
Getting the perfect ending was easy after figuring that one out
>>
>>12030350
Oh and when I say hold down I mean keep holding it so you do that slow side step
It has the added benefit of making you avoid thrown weapons
Now I just have to figure out how to cheese the 100 katana duels
>>
>>12029021
Mogged by Hellish Quart at it's own game.
>>
>>12030387
It only took a gamedev what 30 years to make something that can compare to bushido blade?
>>
>>12030394
>compare
HQ is so ahead of BB there isn't even a point in comparing them.
>>
>>12029021
I dunno but the title track fucking rules.

Is there anything similar to that track?

The levels were great. Just stages for a sword fight really.

As asked before, won what? Bushido Blade was an excellent game, but it unfortunately had no cultural impact on future game design.

Loved the little things in the game like the bandages on wounds sustained in previous rounds. Getting dirty in the mud. Chopping the Bamboo trees with slashes.

That mode where you go up against Ninjas in a hallway, System link two PS1 consoles for 2 player first person mode duels...
>>
The 2nd one was better. Didn't have connected stages anymore, but the roster was a lot better.
