>Perfectly good remake of the original Metroid>Let's add a dogshit stealth epilogue and an extra boss on top of it for no reasonThis was a great game until the last hour. What the fuck was wrong with Nintendo?
Eh, it's not that long of a segment and gives the game something unique compared to the other 2d metroidsI don't mind it
>>12030308it's a pretty typical thing for a remake to add some feature addition to give it a unique identity.
My only complaint about it is that Samus' sprite isn't detailed enough to be arousing.
>>12030308The extra boss was made to connect some lore to what happened to Ridley after he blew up to pieces and to double down on his high intellect the manga protrayed.Though i agree, the stealth segment is fucking awful, it's like they shoohorned some scrapped SA-X section and put it in ZM.
>not adding an entirely new post-game map that's even bigger than the original game where you run around with full power ups bullying metroidsngmi
>Incidentally, the Unknown Items functionally resemble the Sacred Treasures from Kid Icarus, which uses the original Metroid engine: the Mirror Shield (Gravity Suit), Light Arrows (Plasma Beam), and Wings of Pegasus (Space Jump). All three are required to go to the last level of the game, and are not usable before that point.>The Ruins Test boss was dubbed as "the God of War" in an interview with Sakamoto>Palutena is a pastiche of Pallas Athena who's also a God of War (, Handicraft, and Wisdom)>both hold mirrorsHoly....
They should have made a new game where you start as zero suit, relying on stealth and acrobatics because you are a squishy bitch, while slowly obtaining pieces of your suit that unlocks more fire power and super human abilities you can use to start wrecking shit.
>no mode where you play as metroid and hunt samusesare they even trying?
>>12030390ZM already added plenty of content compared to the original Metroid, and all of it was good up until the stealth bullshit
>>12030308it's short enough especially when you know the shortcuts and makes it more satisfying when you get your suit fully decked out.>>12030910sounds cool, someone should make a romhack for that.
>>12030308If only you knew how bad it would get after this anon. If this is truly your biggest beef with Nintendo, you've lived a charmed life.
It's good for remakes to add new elements. The stealth section was a nice diversion, it wasn't that long, it gave you a new area to explore and it was a good power moment when you finally got your suit back to obliterate everything in your path. The extra boss is also hilariously easy (unless you got 100% on Hard Mode, which I know you didn't). Also Samus looks good in a tight suit. So what exactly is the problem?
>>12032160It's shit and not fun and ruins the pacing.
>>12030308>Perfectly good remake of the original MetroidPeople unironically believing this in 2025.
>>12030308I don't think it was a good remake even before that. The physics feel like garbage and they copy Super Metroid in way too many ways.
>>12032175it's fine, it's kind of neat, and if you're worried about pacing just turn the gamepak off after you escape from motherbrain.
I replayed this game for the first time in a while the other day and liked it way less than I remembered. I also played the original Metroid fairly recently and loved that on the other hand. Zero Mission just sucks ass as a remake in the first place. It doesn't try to capture any of the original's appeal, instead opting for a combination of baby's first Metroid with excessive handholding and constant Super Metroid fanservice without a proper understanding of what even makes that game good. I cannot understand why this game is held in so high appeal compared to other Metroids, especially with that horrendous endgame.
>>12030308I think it's neat that you get to play as Metroid's girlfriend at the end.
