How many anons here actually had a Dendy in their room growing up? Did you ever play it with your dad?
My first console was some kind of a bootled Famicom, yes. No idea was it a Dendy though. I still have the cartidge that came with it.
>>12031869*bootleg
>>12031869Nice, what was on the cartridge?
Nah, I had a real NES but I realized years later I only got it when it was on clearance because the SNES came out. My parents tried to keep me from realizing we were kind of poor and I guess knockoff Famicoms either weren't a thing or they didn't trust them. But, I did have fun playing SMB with my dad.
>>12031846My dad bought me a nes on my 5th birthday. We were poor so he decided to buy a nes lot with several games and controllers over a new n64. I’m glad he made that decision. We used to play the terrible terminator game and never get past the first boss. We were convinced he was invincible.
>>12031846>thinly veiled who is Made in USSR threadt.represent, me and my very own Terminator Ending Man (not my pic though)The monster had two literal antennas you'd plug into its RF socket and the TV's and it would literally broadcast your gameplay to the TV in question. And all other TVs in the vicinity, unless blocked by the concrete walls. Which didn't exist in a radius of ~10 km around my dacha. And since I was playing on the 2nd floor of the house on a hill, it would replace the local TV broadcasts (all 1.5 channels of it) for the entire village with my l33t playthroughs of Ninja Gaiden 3, Nekketsu Kakutou Densetsu, Zen Intergalactic Ninja and whatever I had on hand at the time, all without my knowledge (playing 60FPS games at 50FPS speed is not that big of an achievement, in a hindsight, though). I got mad respect among the local kids (all 5 of us) and they never told me about it until one of them confessed many years later. One of us did have the Dendy, the other one had a rather faithful NES clone called Subor and I don't remeber what the other kids had.
Forgot the pic of the energy weapon in question (not mine pic though).
>>12031969That’s actually really sick
>>12031969>Oh cool, the video game show is on again!
>>12031846Kind of a cool logo anyways
>>12031846I just had the traditional plain Family Game clone from the early 90s.Glorious childhood playing lots of Japan-exclusives before emulation.
>>12031969You should get into livestreaming.
>>12031972I had either the same one or a same looking one under a different name. Got over 20 cartridges from my cousin when I was around 6. Somehow, I observed that there is a very strict selection of games people played on famiclones, didn't these totally legit sellers ever make bootleg castlevania or mega man? It was always contra, battle city, mario 1, bomb jack, blue shadow, and a ton of licensed games.
>>12031846Why is the logo in the Roman alphabet when Slavs use Cyrillic?
The Terminator 2 Ending man was my childhood console.I played it well into the early 2000s until I got my first PC (around 2005, I was 14-15 years old at the time)
I had one of these
>>12031846had one until got my first PCremember uncle breaking a chair after having a "successful" Contra runRIP westoids that never played battle tank
>>12032858>RIP westoids that never played battle tankFamiclones and their carts were a thing here in Latin America. It would be easier to think of a NES multicart that didn't get Battle City on it.
>>12032906Fuck burgerlanders then lol
>>12032923Some of this stuff was sold at flea markets and swap meets in the US. I've never found any resource that details who was importing them or which ones they were selling, but there were definitely guys selling them there when we used to walk around looking at stuff at the flea market while our parents were buying god knows what sketchy cheap counterfeit shit they couldn't afford real versions of. It was always NES clones but later on they would have PS1 or N64 shaped controllers, never with an analog stick. Multicarts had a bad rep here though, so I'm assuming only recent immigrants trapped behind a language barrier actually bought them for their kids.
>>12032935kek the infamous PolyStation. I wonder how many kids holidays were ruined because their parents bought them that instead of an actual PSX.
>>12032421Because it's a mutilated English "dandy" (pronounced the same way in Russian)https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dendy#BeginningNobody cared about the language in practice, all carts had Chinese labels and the games were in English or Japanese. On an unrelated note, not all Slavs use Cyrillic (e.g.balts) and some non-Slavs use it too (e.g.mongols).
>>12033196>baltsI'm pretty sure they use both at the same timeWestern Slavs (Poles...) are Latin-only
Nah I only watched that cripple on youtube
I was am to be having of the Dendy as child but father could not be of the playing of games as busy of the pulling of many turnip for glorious. Much rich my family when others are of the having one beetroot to be of the sharing of whole family, my had one beetroot for of the each most night

>>12035436Yes.
>>12035375Oh wow, thats really fluid animation for a Russian production. But they were advertizing Dendy in '96 with the PlayStation and N64 already out?
>>12032448dendy does what spica sucks at
>>12034658 reminded me, was watching this Joel stream a while ago where he was playing famiclone games he had and on one of them a game called "CardcaptorSakura" caught my eye.I'm a huuuuge CCS fan and of course it came along far too late to ever be on the Nintendo officially, so I went around looking for ROM hacks and whatnot that it could've been and didn't find anything. Joel also never said what the name of the cart was (and even if he did, it was probably just the header) so I wouldn't be able to find it that way. Has anyone seen it on their own bootleg carts or have played a CCS ROM hack from the early '2000s that'd know what it would be?Far more likely is that it was just a random game and that was a random name slapped onto it but I want to be hopeful that Sakura-chan was able to grace the dismal lives of children in post-soviet hellholes.
