>>12034672>What made Chrono Trigger such a masterpiece?the commercial explains it pretty clearly.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpsqfKBId9o
>>12034672Was it a masterpiece, though? Didn't grab me and the story and aesthetics don't really scream masterpiece to me. Ffvi and smrpg are better SNES jrpgs imo senpai.
>>12034696To be fair, you have to have very high testosterone to understand Chrono Trigger.
Masato Kato is responsible for the cats, which makes him the best guy on the team.
>>12034709I'm currently watching DBZ, just finished Frieza saga. Idk man, something just doesn't click for me and Chrono trigger. Not that I hate it. I enjoy sci Fi, I own nearly every book from Harlan Ellison and Frank Herbert. I like time traveling, but not how CT does it. Ivreallybwant to like it, but it kicks my nuts when I hear it being heralded as a masterpiece and such. I just don't see it. I recently played psiv for the first time too and absolutely loved it. Maybe I'll give CT another shot in a year or so.
It's easy and short enough that it's not a frustrating slog like most jrpgs. The art style is cool and the characters memorable enough. The different eras make the world feel more expansive than your average schizomedieval fantasy setting
