They all came out within the same time, obviously Dragon Quest was first, with the other two partly influenced by it's success. But Phantasy Star did so much more than those games, with it's unique sci-fi fantasy setting, a female lead character, 3D dungeons, and to me the most important thing of all: animated enemies!
