Not one real flight simulator on the SNES, not even one.
Why? Because it doesn't have blast processing, the processor is too slow.
Also Super Nintendo sucks. The relied entirely on their meme-worthy scaling and rotation, resulting in clunky, predictable crap.
lol "Pilot Wings" (case in point).

Meanwhile on SEGA Genesis:

MIG-29 Fulcrum
F-22 Interceptor
G-LOC Air Battle
After Burner (Also available on the SEGA System)
F-117 Night Storm
LHX Attack Chopper
Thunder Blade (Also available on the SEGA System)
Ace of Aces (Exclusively for the SEGA System)
Jungle Strike
F-15 Strike Eagle II
>>
>>12037098
Because it's a boring genre only the cheap westerners hired by SoA give a fuck about
>>
>>12037098
>Lists game he explicitly says is a Master System exclusive under list of Genesis game.
>Was actually released on many other platforms, and is therefore not an exclusive.
>>
>>12037098
Jungle Strike is also on SNES you fucking idiot.

DOS fan here, why on God's green fucking earth would you not play period specific flight simulators on a good 486 or Pentium II / III machine?

Only arcadey flight sims are good on console and peaked with the Ace Combat series on PSX
>>
>>12037129
Agreed, the DOS port of Jungle Strike mogs the Genesis version. OP is a retard
>>
>>12037098
>Not one real flight simulator on the SNES, not even one.
SNES drones don't care about flight simulators, because those aren't Mario or Zelda games. Just like they don't care about shooters, action games, belt scrollers, RTS, or any of the other many genres that the SNES hardware was too weak to perform.
>2.68 MHz
Pitiful.

My dad used to love pac man and space invaders on the 2600 and Outrun Europa on the sega master system. But now he is technologically impaired and doesnt even know how to work our TV or his cell phone.

It's sad because i used to have a lot of fun playing vidya with him when i was little.
>>
i will crush nintendo
with my bare hands
>>
>>12037315
Go ask to play games with him then. Don't mean to be that guy but no one lives forever.

I know if my dad played games with me when I was younger, I would ask.

Mine would get me Madden 64 to get me into football or some shit and I only briefly remember convincing him to play Starfox 64 multiplayer with him.

In retrospect, that is how Boomers were really.
>>
>>12037207
Agreed. Consoles were way underpowered for this thing. OP is an idiot for not realizing that genre peaked with early PC and DOS.

>F-15 Strike Eagle II
Why settle for Strike Eagle when you can have Super Strike Eagle? (also known as Super Fuck You)
>>
>>12037098
Half of those games aren't even simulators. Mig-29, F-22, F117, and Strike Eagle 2 are all lite-sims.

If you want a real simulator, your only option is PC.
>>
>>12037098

Sorry, but Pilot Wings is objectively good.

FTFY

They realized they had to balance realism with fun back then, unlike modern """"sims"""" (button autism simulators)
>>
Low effort auster thread. Don't think you'll get it easy because the board is a trashfire at the moment.
*BRRRRRAAAAAAAAPPPPPPP*
>>
>>12037794
Oh cool, and here i was thinking the sim thread wouldn't get its usual schizo posts, nice.
>>
>>12037098
just dropping some early classics of the genre. Carry on.
>>
>>12037794
NTA Board is good at the momemt IMO better than usual if anything because there seems to be less zelda and mario spam.
>>
>>12038437
This. Only people bitching about the board are the tendies and SNES drones, because they're not able to overrun this place anymore. There's a lot of good discussion about a huge variety of games now, this makes the SNES tendies mad (because they only have a dozen games worth talking about).
>>
>>12038578
Absolutely this. It's 100% improved minus the endless tendie spam. The sega fags were never terrible to begin with tho' and I'm not one of them. It was open the board see five shit threads about zelda, close the board for a long time.
>>
>>12037627
>>12037639

Those games are still fun, but they're arcade shooters, not flight sims.

Your "button autism simulators" aren't new, they have always been there (picrel from 1982), and if you actually want to genuinely simulate flying, you need to replicate those things.
>>
Least subtle samefagging ever. Now you can kill yourself

There were a massive nunber of very good retro military flghts sims as well, see stuff like janes fighter sims, gunship, commanche, MS flight sim 96 and 2000, ZX spectrum flight sim and zx spectrum Combat Lynx, MS combat flight sim etc.yes retro flight sims, absolutely, going back even to the ZX81 in 1982 with ZX81 flight simulator as well as more light weight but brilliant stuff like Red Baron (great game)

Military combat flight sims were a microprose niche, Gunship by them in 1986 was huge and it even had a port to the PS1 in 1996. Gunship 2000 in 1991 was a masterpiece
>>
>>12039128
Just broadening minds anon
>>
>>12039127
It was an incredible achievement to get it done on the ZX81 at all in 16 kilobytesand it and the ZX spectrum flight sim were massive sellers. Psion who wrote it went on to have one of the first popular clamshell PDSs and later wrote the symbian OS used by nokia as well as making PCMCIA cards for laptops
>>
There was a huge boom in flighter style joysticks and flight sticks in the 90s because of flight sims, stuff from companies like thrustmaster and saitek, Microsoft launched the force feedback sidewinder at the end of the 90s to accompany combat flight sim and flight simulator 98 and 2000

https://dosdays.co.uk/topics/Manufacturers/thrustmaster.php

But there were also plenty of flight yokes and other controler accesories. In fact flight sims in the late 90s were more often people with the most powerful homebuild PCs
>>
>>12037319
nintendose nuts. haha gottem

>>12037207
Computer chads laughing all the way from 1980 at you poorfag console losers.
>>
>>12038872
If you want to actually simulate flying, then you simulate flying. You don't need button autism simulators to do it. You can do it with one stick and one button. What YOU'RE referring to, are cockpit simulators.

> but they're arcade shooters, not flight sims.
Retarded, faggot.
>>
>>12037098
Take a shower.
>>
>>12039129
>Military combat flight sims were a microprose niche,
Until Novalogic ran them out of town in the 90's.

>NUH UH, THEY AREN'T REAL-
Yes, they are. They simulate actual flight dynamics and models for aircraft. They may not be the best, and they may have more of a focus on action and spectacle, but they count.
>>
>>12037098
Turn and Burn: No Fly Zone is a pretty good one.
>>
>>12039554
I came here to ask what people thought about turn n burn. Its a good looking game.
>>
>>12037098
Idk, definitely a skill issue. Elite was ported to the NES, frontier could've been. Ported to snes or at least N64. That would be pretty fucking cool to see
>>
>>12039554
>>12039583
Looks exceedingly advanced for a SNES game.
>>
>>12039452
I liked novologic stuff too anon but also microprose stuff you can like several things you know syill prefer gunship to commanche tho
>>
>>12039583
>>12039603
It has low-res Top-Gun scenes.when you shoot down enemies. Not as bad as all the copyright violations in retfA renruB, but we all know the Japanese didn't give a fuck in the 80s/early 90s.
>>
>>12039129
Damn that cover brought back memories, I still have the jewel case sitting with the rest of my old PC games. As a kid I never got it to work on the piece of shit family computer.
>>
>>12039650
I've only played a little bit of it, but that "mission start" sequence where you launch off the carrier and the perspective points back to the carrier, is as they would say, "absolute kino". The fact that you can roll the plane during that is so good. Its the best I've ever seen mode 7 look on the SNES
>>
>>12039670
Such were the trilas of live. Good game actually as was Microsofts combat flight sim.
>>
>>12039798
>trials of life.

A lot of the fliught sims on PC were BIG box games that came with outainns of stuff. There was practically a book in with the MS flight sim
>>
No one has mentioned IL-2 Sturmovik yet? Come on, guys.
>>
who wants to play a flight sim on a basic controller? not enough buttons
