What scary /vr/ games are ya gunna play?
I haven't played Castlevania: Curse of Darkness since it came out, gonna go back for the 20th anniversry
There's two really outstanding things about this game. Once October hits I'm gone.
>>12038732I can't beat Wario's castle
strip poker with ya mum
Just to experience all the silliness I have seen, it's not the same to simply watch people poke fun at a silly game just like watching a silly movie is not the same as simply hearing about it.

games aren't scary. also only playing horror games during halloween is fucking dumb and weak. i enjoy them all year rounds.
boo
Scariest game ever. Retro or not.
>>12038732The king of them all (besides Castlevania)!
I always replay Silent Hill
Will probably marathon the classicvanias.
>>12038732This map screen reminds me of the Mighty Max toys. Soul.
>>12040258I'll have to check it out
>>12038732I'll probably replay Clive Barker's Undying because it's been years since my last replay
>>12040258Yeah this one probably spooked me more than any other game. It just has a very foreboding atmosphere to it.
>>12038732I start fall and Halloween festivities after Labor Day. The only retro thing I've gotten to so far was about 75% through Castlevania: Circle of the Moon. I keep hesitating to play it, though, because I'm being autistic and making a more detailed map as I play which requires me to sit at my desk.I'm thinking of dropping it for the moment and playing Symphony of the Night instead since I've barely played that one, and I kind of want to do the Igavanias in order.>>12039187Every year. Damn, I love this game.>>12043192This has been on my list for ages and I think I might just move it to the top and play it already. I wanted to do Koudellka first, and I've tried a couple of times, but I never stick with it. The battles seem unnecessarily slow and long so I think I'm just playing wrong or something.
>>12040083>games aren't scaryhave you played Visage, Madison, or Outlast? I could list more if needed anon.
>>12044163Koudelka and Shadow Hearts 1 were the only games in the series I liked. SH1 has faster battles and while it took place after Koudelka, most people who played SH1 hadn't played Koudelka. It doesn't come to anything until 3/4 of SH1, though, and what ties it to SH1 is your very last party member and their heritage. You can get all you need from Koudelka by seeing it play out on YouTube (like a stage play), or you read a wiki. Don't get me wrong:Koudelka is a great RPG, not too long; not too short. But it did go through shit development cycles. Kikuta wanted the game to be more like Resident Evil, his staff and executives tried to make Final Fantasy instead in a 19th century Welsh monastery. The game has a strong story, narrative, characters, cutscenes, music, English voice acting, etc. It's the design and gameplay that piss people off.Your leveling system is like FFII or SaGa; you can only raise stats the more you do the same shit in battle. Weapons are few and they break, don't waste your time to raise their level, stick to magic, save the strongest weapons for bosses and your bullets for events where you need to hit your targets from a distance, and melee combat isn't a good idea.Once your elemental spells are leveled enough, they easily outclass any guns. Avoid fighting the gargoyle boss unless you're looking for good challenge. If you know Spanish and can't stand the voice acting in English, the Spanish version is good, too. If you get stuck, read the Let’s Play below. That's the one that I used on my first try. He covers every secret, nook, and cranny.https://lparchive.org/Koudelka-(by-The-Dark-Id)/
What's really spooky is how insanely difficult this is.
re1, koudelka, demon's crest, alien trilogy
>>12044887Thanks for the tips. I've heard it's not very long, so I'll just try and plow headfirst into it. I'd like to actually experience it since there's technically a series spawned from it, and just for the weird fact that one of the characters is Lord Dunsany.
>>12040267I wish for a hack of this game that mantains the increible creepy graphics and paralel world gameplay while fixing it's many problems.
>>12044912this is a fact
>>12040627the gameplay is so shit and not worth replaying
>>12038732I did stream Silent Hill last year, this October I might not stream as I don't intend on taking off work this year as I need the money. However, I am considering starting Fatal Frame 3.
I just finished my first replay of Silent Hill 2 in maybe 15 years or so, will probably run back through it for some of the other endings, maybe crack out the XBOX version to play Born from a Wish.
>>12043192
not scary, but hella fun around spooky season
>>12046040At least make an actual attempt with your bait.
>>12044646I've played outlast. got startled a few times by shit jumping out at you, but it's still not scary, because fiction isn't scary.
>>12038801i still find it funny that both games had no nuditiy and HC shit in it as it was the norm in horror at that time
>>12044887I wanted to do a firearms build for one of the characters but ammo was so scarce that I had to go back to spellcasting. Spells really were the objectively best way to play the game.
>>12048448This is what indie devs think PS1 games looked like.
>>12038732text adventure
>>12050649Anchorhead is another good horror text-adventure
>>12040258idk if its the "scariest game ever" but its one of my favorite games for its atmosphere
>>12038732My plan for next month is to finally finish Castlevania Circle of the Moon and Doom TNT Platonium
>>12038732not that scary but a fun little game with a cool atmosphere, one of the best Earthbound rom hacks actually but really difficult in parts. I stream Hallows End every Halloween now.
>>12053410Is this the one Toby Fox worked on with his Brandish self insert?
>>12046040The combat is kind of fun if you git gud with the crow bar
>>12044887Zlato, my beloved...
Just smashed on silent hill. Following thread for better obscure games and what to play next.
>>12053416no i think thats Halloween Hack, i've never felt a desire to play it because its edgy and homosexual whereas Hallows End is cute and spooky and innocent
>>12044163MediEvil's a really comfy autumn/winter game, never get tired of the eternal night in it.
>>12054197what is dangerous about him?
Currently playing the zombie chapters in Victorian England in Duke Nukem Zero Hour.
