Finally got around to running the AccuracyCoin NES Test ROM on real hardware. This is a recently recapped AV Famicom. Not sure what this rom is testing but it can't even be perfect on real hardware.
>>12039875Also ran the test on a Lava FC clone console, the one that uses real OEM CPU and PPU chips and it scored 1 point better. The unit I got has a RP2A03G and RP2C02G-0.
Apparently, that test is designed for a specific hardware revision. It's not guaranteed to work on anything else.
>>12039915Yeah more or less, some autistic TAS stuff. Just thought it was intreating
>>12039875>Not sure what this rom is testing>it can't even be perfect on real hardware
>>12039875>>12039881Shows how accurate Mesen is, considering it scored 118
>>12039915>Apparently, that test is designed for a specific hardware revision. It's not guaranteed to work on anything else. It'll work on other hardware revisions just fine. OP should send his results to the guy who built the test rom, so the differences between the revisions can be documented.
>>12039915Did the dev ever reveal which hardware revision his test was designed for? Other than his own emulator, which suspiciously attains a perfect score?
>>12039875Remember when people mocked that Mister didn't test 100% for this shit? Lol
>TriCNES, his own emulator, is the only one that scores pefectly>the emulator in questionWorthless test ROM
>>12040628I don't buy that he wrote the test specifically for the emulator, from a coding standpoint, that's silly. He's surely got an actual console there that he's basing this thing on, but any console that's not the exact revision he has won't match.>>12040641FPGA haters are stupid, it's not surprising
>>12040628How is that suspicious at all? He wrote the emulator in tandem with the ROM, so whenever he developed a test for the ROM, he went back and edited his emulator to pass it. Do people think he purposefully excluded test if his emulator couldn't pass them? Are you stupid?
>>12041608>Do people think he purposefully excluded test if his emulator couldn't pass them?I think he may have included tests only his emulator could pass, assuming there isn't a corresponding hardware variant his emulator is based on. If the dev revealed the console he based his emulator on, and showed it passing his tests, then he could clear that up.
>>12039875>EverDriveThere's your answer.
>>12040641MiSTer has since catched up, with the current nightly version scoring 121/125.We finally have scientific proof to old troll claims that FPGA is "more accurate than real hardware", lmao
>>12042005>I thinkNot very well
>>12040652Seems pointless if theres no explanation for his choice of hardware iteration
>>12039875Passing these tests means fuck all. There was recent FPGAFAG crowing about how the Mister Saturn core passing some bank of tests meant it was now 100% accurate to original hardware, only for the developer of said core to come out and say that's bullshit.
>>12039875Loser.
