that's a bonus stage actually. i hated it at first but it's actually pretty good when you know how to do it. the best one is definitely this though.

And it's still better than all the Sonic 2 and Sonic 3's other special stages.
But yeah I wish they did more of these instead of just always the same one. At least powerups are random.
