>holding down the jump button in Super Mario World slows down Mario's falling speed, even when he is not rising from a jump
I'm brapping this thread, with no survivors.*BRRRRRAAAAAAAAPPPPPPP*
>OP is a faggotoh wait, that is common knowledge.

you can get a triple jump from a standstill in mario 64 if you jump twice then only start tilting the stick forward as mario starts descending from the jump apex.
>>12041349Extremely good tip
>>12041349That's not common knowledge?
>super metroid>jumps are slightly higher from a crouching position>games requires you to know that in order to progress in a single place otherwise you are stuck>information no where found in the manual or in the readmecool I guess
>>12041035So glad the faggot janny is gone
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2:>tapping or double-tapping up before doing an ollie will give you more points and air>instead of doing a long grind, you can get far more points from repeatedly ollie-ing off the grind and immediately grinding again, since you get a multiplier on the score for each 'trick'>immediately tapping up and down or down and up before landing a non-halfpipe trick will land you in a manual for additional points and another multiplier>if you are coming back down on a halfpipe at a bad angle and know you're going to wreck, try grinding out of it, sometimes you'll catch and can save yourself and your trick combo
>>12041625>instead of doing a long grind, you can get far more points from repeatedly ollie-ing off the grind and immediately grinding again, since you get a multiplier on the score for each 'trick'The game intentionally makes the balance meter more sensitive if you do this, it's better to grind-manual-grind.
>>12041643You can get even more multiplier with grind-flip-manual-flip-grind rather than spamming grind and falling on your face
Jumping spin attack in Link's Awakening. Apparently few are aware that in LA you absolutely can hit enemies in the middle of a feather jump, it's just Oracle games onwards where it doesn't work.
>>12041601what place?
>>12041035You can plug a PS2 controller into a PS1 and it will work just fine.
In Street Fighter 2 (all versions) when you are in a grab you should mash opposite diagonals instead of rotating the joystick of d-pad in a circle. The game engine counts only opposite direction inputs towards your mash-out, and diagonals count double. You should also fan your hand rapidly across the buttons for the most button inputs. By doing this you can mash out of grabs in less than half a second. This also works when you are doing a grab to the opponent in order to get more hits in.
If you put a PS1 memory card in a PS2, you can fight an Exodia deck in Duelists of the Roses.
>>12042136>You should also fan your hand rapidly across the buttons for the most button inputs. Also useful for ensuring you use a reversal. By mashing the punch or all the kick buttons, to ensure an attack input is registered on the right frame.
>>12041035Wait what
>>12043569Yeah it's real. You can easily see it by comparing how fast Mario falls after walking off the first slope on Yoshi's Island 1 with the jump button held vs. no buttons held other than right on the D-Pad.
>>12042126Except you’ll be using a DS2, so it won’t really be fine
>>12043604I see no downsides.
In Double Dragon 3 you can stop throwing weapons with a well placed kick
>>12042126Also you can plug a Sega Genesis controller in an Atari 2600
>>12044135Streets of Rage too, IIRC.
