I've been playing F-Zero AX, and I’m enjoying it more than GX. While it has less content: no story mode, cups, store, or practice. It makes up for it with a solid arcade deliver. The Grand Prix feels more meaningful: It’s short, but mastering the mechanics is rewarding. You need to learn each track’s layout, strategize around boost management, pits, and curves, which is fun and satisfying. Your performance earns Pilot Points, which you can spend on parts for your Original Machine. There’s also a Pilot Rank system with a class license, which I think reflects your skill level at your local arcade or location, though I’m not entirely sure. The game nails the futuristic Formula One vibe that F-Zero is supposed to embody. While GX didn’t quite hit that mark for me, AX absolutely delivers; it feels spot-on.I’m emulating it using Crediar’s fork of Dolphin, bundled with TeknoParrot. I’m running it at native resolution with 4x SSAA and area sampling.Have you tried F-Zero AX? If so, did you play it at the arcade, on a modded Wii, or through emulation?
Can't say i have, sorry
no
>>12043309If you bring your GC memcard to the arcade machine does it unlock all of the AX stuff or just the guy you played as?
>>12044419it unlocks the pilot you play as for GX, maybe some tracks/parts if you clear specific stuff. Not all AX content at once
I have been playing it. According to Crediar, it is not possible to emulate the memory card function, and he mentioned that he is not thinking about how to do so and does not care about it. What a faggot.
how exactly is it different from GX
>>12045961 It features different content, including 10 "exclusive" pilots and tracks, and obtaining machine parts is relatively easy. While this content is unlockable in GX, it requires a lot of grinding to access. AX is designed to be a "companion" game for GX, but unfortunately, as of today, it’s impossible to emulate the memory card module, meaning you can't unlock that content simply by playing AX.The main issue is that there's no true "1:1" way to play it. On the Wii, it's a "hacked" version that, as far as I know, isn't compatible with the Logitech wheel. And on Dolphin, even if you have a wheel, there's no force feedback (FFB). Emulating the memcard module causes the game to crash on the Wii, and attempting it on Dolphin results in an error stating it can't be read.
>>12045534>coolest car>it sucksThey could have at least made it handle like Crazy Taxi since the on screen stats are irrelevant to machine control.>>12045536>Lily in the backgroundSEXO
