fuck laser, I love double. I use double the entire game.

It's genuinely useful in any situation where you're likely to be blocked moving up, so that's a good half the game. Chewing through wall chunks/bosses you might want the laser, but double is fine for first few stages and damn near necessary at the moai, unless you fan your options out well. Just don't over rely on it to save you at the volcanoes, though dying there you may as well restart.
