What a unique colour palette. I never thought graphics could get any better, and they didn't.

The character animation itself in the MediEvil cutscenes was pretty awful so that prerendered stuff was definitely cooler as static images.

The intro was pretty stiff when it came to zarok's movements, that's the only thing that stood out to me as bad
The other cutscenes were okay

Dan himself in the cutscenes is usually either too rigid too (which doesn't matter since he's a skeleton) or too floaty/weightless (which kinda does) and generally animated in a very rudimentary way. In any case it really didn't matter that much, since all that CG was a nice novelty at the time and you couldn't really expect top-shelf standards like Oddworld's for every game.

I could probably dump the entire DKC trilogy 3D promo art gallery if I wanted to, it still looks great to this day

Jason Wilson didn't work on many videogames, but man did he really put effort into making Medievil look timeless
I'll never stop posting this video of his where he talks about the development of the game and showing off all the artwork he made for Medievil:

The DKC environments are all extremely soulful and the promo art really brings it out. I remember being always mesmerized by the images and the backgrounds.

It's actually amazing they managed to make Carnby look even more lame than in the original

Anyway, the 5th gen RE clone gold rush is a goldmine for cheesy prerendered CGI
