>>12049372the Gen 3 games were the last purely 2D mainline titles ever release.Cope DSkek
>>12049310Such a neat concept.
Sneasel and Mightyena who are both useless
>>12049498Based frogfucker
Pikachu (fat)
>>120493722002 was 23 years ago, that’s undeniably retro to the current target video game demographic (not you anymore)
>>12051992Pokemon came out in 1998If you were a kid during Gen1, you were a kid during gen3. Pokemon just fell out of fashion by then
>>12049258Drowzee is the coolest pokemon
>>12053867Pokemon fell out of fashion during Gen 2 because it sucked. Gen 3 did really well all things considered.
>>12054041Gen 3 was failure, only zoomers that missed on pokemania liked it. The original crowd left to play more mature games like Diablo 2.
>>12054023Chad
>>12054439Gen 2 wasn't part of PokemaniaYi Gi Oh and MTG took over , by Gen2 it was considered for babies by the original kids
>>12055281>MTG took overLOL no it fucking didn't
Dont care if his Gyarados light. he was my homie.
If you played with Squirtle or Charmander, Odish is a beast!
>>12049507Unironically great ingame
>>12057464>fire/thunder/ice punches your 'monnothing personneli love it!
>>12049258electric mouse
>>12055286Yeah it did. All the former TCG people moved onto one or the other. White kids MTG, blackspanic YuGi. Most game fans didn't give a fuck about the jrpg genre but those that did, just went to Final FaggotsOnly the class autists, below the average nerds/gamers, kept being into Pokemon openly
Meganium. Honorable mention to Dodrio
>>12058316Everyone moved to Yugi, No one but the biggest nerds gave a shit about MTG
No vaporeon. Did you know...
I'm partial to blue tadpole or the blue rhinoceros beetle
>>12055281>>12058316MTG was for Gen Xers in the 90’s/early 2000’s.It was too expensive and complicated for most kids to get into.At my school at least, after pokemon it was digimon for a year and then Yugioh for two years.
My main homies
>>12059567I was born in the late 80s and was definitely into MTG prior to Pokémon. Granted, I was more fascinated by the card art than the gameplay itself.
>>12058909Meganium and Lapras have grown on me lately.
I didn't like it but when I realized that it is broken at the beginning of the game (it is good against zubats, rattatas and electric gym) it became one of my favorites!
>>12059206>>12059567Nah brah plenty millennials played MTG, it was for higher IQ nerds so slightly more niche but still was very popular. It was bigger with the edgy kids who also played Diablo and Warcraft and shit.I hung out at an anime/import/tabletop gaming center a lot and MTG was definitely more the staple with the pre teens who hung there than any of the anime tcgs, which for original Pokemon kid age were starting to be seen as kiddie stuff. Pokemon you had to like in the closet, I didn't ever know anyone who was into Digimon beyond the anime, and Yu Gi Oh was also popular but it was more casual and with the weeaboo crowd specifically. You have to remember that not everyone even into Pokemon cared about anime at large, it was just a trend that everyone of pre pubescent age was into initially, like pigs, beanie babies, etc
>>12057839Based riachu appreciation
>>12060787>yes it was mainly nerds and I hung out with nerdsExactly, it wasn't mainstream at all
>>12060856Buddy, it's all nerd shit. The only thing that reached a wider audience was Pokemon. Normie Pokemon fans just grew up and didn't game anymore other than Madden and CoD. The nerds are the only relevant thing to this discussion If you think Yu Gi Oh was popular like Pokemon was to "non nerds" you're clearly a generation beneath me, meaning you weren't a genwunner. Weeaboos were still largely made fun of for mid 80s-early 90s born people in our adolescents, it wasn't accepted socially until the next Gen who were toddlers after Pokemon and Toonami/Adult Swim already had been existing. Anime was the lowest of the low in nerd culture, kids who liked Batman and X-Men got made fun of by turbo normies, but anime fans got made fun of by them just like jrpg fans got made fun of by people playing Twisted Metal and Diablo
>>12060985>Normie Pokemon fans just grew up and didn't game anymore other than Madden and CoDYep, then they hit 30 and Pokemon Go came out and they all pretended to be huge Pojemaniacs again, and started playing zoomercore online games like Fortnite and League, listening to Juice Tentacle 69 etc. Seeing much of my generation meltdown in the face of adulthood and try to keep being young has been the saddest shit. Normie former Ugg boots/Abercrombie girls dying their hair crazy colors at 35 and trying to be e-girls when they used to make fun of gaming, it's pathetic
>>12059232>>>/vp/
>>12060985Maybe it was like that in America but here anime has always been seen as more mature than western cartoons.
>>12060080Great taste all around
My daughter
The icon himself. Pikachu.
