I've beaten a shit ton of horror games and don't know what to play next. Here's my backlog:Alone in the dark new nightmareblue stinger carrierClock tower 1, 2 (1 in the USA), 3chaos breakd2deep feareternal darknessfatal frame 3, 4, 5galeriansHaunting Groundillbleedkiller 7siren 1, 2the thingx files resist or servetragWhat should I play next? if it's not listed I probably beat it already
Fatal Frame 3 definitely
>>12050276If the point of a backlog is to play all the games on it then it doesnt matter which game you play next.
killer7 and siren are two of my favorite games of all time so I guess those.
>here's my backlog>it's missing a bunch of games he 100% playedhow the fuck are we suppose to recommend something?
>>12050293is killer7 really a horror game though? It wasn't trying to be anymore scary than no more heroes
>>12050276Bumping this thread since the OP isn't AI sloppa.
>>12050431Recommend something from the list. You can guess what I like, it's all the other shit that's missing like resident evil, parasite eve, silent hill, obscure, etc... Beat em all.>>12050435I played the beginning a while ago and thought it was creepy.
>>12050487galerians. It's very short but very dope and unique. Highly recommend.
>>12050435It's at least somewhat action horror. A lot of the same team as Resident Evil 4 worked on it. There's a lot of nightmarish imagery, especially the one Pedro cutscene.
>>12050276Definitely Eternal Darkness
>>12050276>What should I play next? That's something that you should decide based on the kind of game you're currently looking for, as the ones you listed are very different both mechanically and thematically and offer distinct experiences. Now based on what you said here >>12050487I'd personally recommend you the following and explain why:A) If you're looking for combat and stylish characters, Killer7 should be the obvious choice. Wouldn't call it a horror game however. The Thing also has plenty of action, and it possess a very special atmosphere which you might love if you like snow and winter (and managing a squad of heavily armed soldiers).B) If you loved Parasite Eve 1 and wouldn't mind playing a janky and exotic classic RE clone, I recommend you Deep Fear. Its shortcomings are exceeded by its style and ambitious ideas (although flawed execution). if you like the idea of surviving in an underwater base this is totally the game for you. And if you like it, play Blue Stinger next.3) Wanna try something different where combat isn't the focus, and instead you have to run from enemies? A) Haunting Ground would be a great choice, with its interesting story and cast of antagonists (some rather more charismatic and/or tragic than scary). It features some form of combat also, by either/and kicking enemies, using various items (which you can craft in an alchemy reflex demanding minigame) or sending a loyal (if you treat him right as you should) dog to attack them. Plus it has additional costumes (some lewd) after completion, and it has multiple endings, which encourages replaying it.B) Clock Tower 1 (english fan translated) on the SNES/SFC is one of the scariest horror games there is. Don't expect combat (but you can still hold/resist your enemy's attack), but you'll get spooked a lot. Also it has many different possible endings which depend on the things you did (and IIRC their order) i.e. It has massive replayability.(1/2)
>>12050813(2/2)Clock Tower 2 isn't nearly as good or spooky as the first one (but it's also very cryptic and has many different endings).Clock Tower 3 changes the formula A LOT and adds combat and makes it a big part of the game, especially during its boss fights, which are as bizarre as they're epic. E.g. You feel like you're God's punishing thunder when you finally defeat them. Nonetheless the horror factor is alas quite lower than in previous titles, and the plot, characters and voice acting is so campy it'll make you laugh at times.D) Illbleed is an extremely unique survival game which happens in a macabre reality show (not unlike Man Hunt, but with lots of bizarre and dark humor style situations). It has a very strange gameplay loop which requires you to keep track of certain variables, but once you get it it'll come natural to you. Its focus isn't on combat (which is present though) but on dodging traps and managing your resources. Quite gory also.It has a special fucked up true ending which I only recommend to try getting after you've already beat the game once normally.E) And finally I recommend Fatal Frame 3. No explanation needed as I assume you already beat the first two. Also, regarding Galerians (which was recommended to you by >>12050501) I'd like to add that while it's a good choice, it's a game that's very hard/challenging due to it being essentially on a timer and being very stingy with resources. So if you choose to play it expect getting stuck/softlocked and having to reload saves during a first playthrough. Also the way the combat works can easily lead to you wasting super precious ammo (drugs) since you won't start knowing what's best to use against which enemies and whatnot. On the other hand, it's peak late 90s anime EDGE and there's nothing else like it.Anyway, play whatever you want and have fun.
>>12050839>ManhuntFixed. And I guess you could also add it to your backlog if you like sneaking.
>>12050839P.S. The Siren games would also be a good choice if what you're looking for are very cryptic games with interesting stories and playable characters and with LOTS of trial and error. Fortunately the game is structured in sections (placed on a timeline) which you can replay as much as you need (which will be a lot). It's mostly based around SNEAKING (although it has some combat, specially with one of the playable characters), and THOROUGHLY EXPLORING each area looking for items or things that can affect or unlock how things develop in future sections on the timeline (and therefore unlocking more parts of it). It's also quite challenging, specially in sections with enemies with firearms.Plus, if you like japanese horror folklore (moreso the typical fucked up rural areas) and characters that look like real japanese people these games have both.
>>12050276Chaos Break is bad, but its worth playing just to see how bad it is
>>12050276I like Killer7 but its not a horror game or even tries to be, its qeird for sure tho
>>12051575I thought it was one of the better RE clones on the system (which isn't saying much considering they tend to suck)
Bump
Are there any horror games for PS1? ORwss that more of a ps2 thing
>>12050276>I've beaten a shit ton of horror gamesWhich game is scariest?
