Let’s get a gaming magazine discussion going.

I love flipping through old gaming magazines. The breathless passion for games have been buried and forgotten over the years is contagious, it’s really reinvigorated my love for retro gaming.

Anyone else still appreciate the old magazines?

I recently managed to track down an old issue of some obscure mag I used to read religiously.

I like when they have a good amount of screenshot and text. A equal mix.

The 90s was the peak for magazines, then early 2000s, after that in late 2000s was the long farawell.

Lara Croft was a huge selling point at that time.

I love British ones too. The dry humour in them speaks to me. There was a ps2 one that had a column dedicated to gta, where they would answer the dumbest questions about the game and tear the asker to shreds. A stand out is someone asking about how to get the bus on gta 3

I have that issue, that demo came with 14 net yaroze full games.

what magazine has a reviewer that went by the name "eggo" and used a small purple ninja as an avatar? i think there was a similarly drawn red ninja avatar for a different reviewer.

isn't it a weekly magazine? most of them probably got tossed, due to storage issues.
>>
>>12054927
The main one, yes. And there are so many off them, I bet very few issues got no scans at all. But there were several spin-off magazines back then. Same goes for dengeki.

a WEEKLY gaming magazine? fuck me how is there even enough news to populate a rag in 7 days?
>>
gamepro was by far my favorite. enjoyed the letter section and how each writer had a character/persona they adopted

Most definitely. I am glad I kept most of what I have, but to this day I still regret throwing out all my Nintendo Power (first 2 years) issues because I had to move. I still break out a random magazine once in a while for the memory.

Well it was japan, there, they have like dozens and hundreds of games that don't reach Atlantic ocean shores.
