Kentie's is still the best way to play this right? I just wish there was a good way to fix the scope/binoculars problem. It looks so tiny if you play at high resolutions.
I tried finding a fix but it involved editing a texture, and it only worked for 1 resolution, if I wanted to play on a laptop or change screens it would look off again.
>>
>>12052910
so the remaster is to make a 2000 game look like a 2002 game...? and to butcher the lighting...?

I don't particularly care for the retarded normalfag hate bandwagon going on right now. It's too little pushback, way too late. These motherfuckers saw countless games -- literally hundreds of them at this point -- get raped by companies and suddenly they draw the line at Deus Ex? I even noticed retards comparing this to the GTA Definitive Edition debacle, which is ironic because that heap of fucking garbage somehow sold 14M copies. So this will too, it's just basic economics.

The funniest fucking part is that no one has actually played Deus Ex, at least no one who is currently trying to pretend Aspyr are the "LJN of modern gaming" now (real comment I saw, btw). This performative outrage is purely because they got the signal that this remaster is bad bad not good, even though they have no real basis to say it looks bad and are simply operating off gut reaction (Read: Their favorite streamer said it's ugly, as if the OG game isn't also fucking hideous).

Ultimately I just think it's kind of weird, you know? We're finally at the stage where old games can look on par with pre-rendered CGs but according to normalfags and elitists and ragebaiters if you have anything but absolute feverish hatred for this you're *checks notes* a brownoid slopjeet turdworlder or something. And don't act like this isn't the exact fucking script everyone over on /v/ follows now.

Okay, here we go again. Some guy writes a manifesto about normalfags and bandwagons. Buddy, you’re not exposing corruption in the Vatican, you’re just yelling at people for yelling. You're doing the exact same thing you claim to hate, only with more swear words and fewer commas. And this whole 'basic economics, it'll sell anyway'. Yeah, thanks Milton Friedman. People buy garbage all the time. Doesn't make you Nostradamus, it just makes you Captain Obvious.

You're not above the outrage, you're just in a different flavor of it. It's like complaining about traffic while you're sitting in the same jam, honking louder than everyone else. Congratulations, you’re part of the thing you think you're smarter than.

When GMDX already exists, I don't see the need for this personally. Those guys at least tried to do something interesting and new with the base game too.

Really - you can see from the trailer that this is less 'let's do Deus Ex in HD' and more 'let's make Deus Ex sellable for PS5 owners'. I'd much rather they did a decent sequel if they were looking to do that.
>>
Why? Just port the game as it was to modern platforms and add qol and control interfaces that fit the platform. Why always fool around with the visuals and soundtrack?

The #1 thing I love about these demakes is that not a single person is forced to buy them. I can slightly sympathize with people who might not have anything else than a smart phone and a ps5 in their house so they can't just download these old games for free, it's probably the only market which makes sense.
>>
>>12053509
it looks disgusting mate I don't know what to say
People are comparing it to the GTA remasters because it has the same mix of
>outdated/mismatched looking shaders with lots of basic ass specular reflections
>quickly slapped together character models with uncanny looking proportions that show very little care was given to capturing the likeness of the original (this is different from, say, the spyro remasters, where a lot of characters were openly redesigned. in this one, they're different people wearing the same clothes)
>ai upscaled looking textures with hilarious typos
it looks extremely low effort and that's why people are complaining
>>
>>12053960
Exactly what I was saying earlier. Just give people the old, trusty, authentic experience but on modern platforms with features like support for 4K and high frame-rates.

Btw I think you can remake Deus Ex but you need to do it in a carefully considered way.

actually a proper remaster/remake that doesn't fuck up the entire aesthetic of the game and makes everything look like plastic would satisfy me. yes the music sucks in the remake (which can be fix if you pay 5$) but the gameplay is better,it now actually feels like survival horror where you can run out of ammo and the level design is miles better. are you gonna tell me the sewers were better in the original ? what about the puzzles, sure they arent mind blowing in the remake but the OG barely had any.
are the copy/paste dogshit ada/sherry segment with braindead box pushing "puzzle" better in the original than what we got in the remake ?
you might have the sufficient IQ to understand tank control but not to think critically beyond old good/new bad.

They hired that man. This is Deus Ex in 2025

>are you gonna tell me the sewers were better in the original ?
Yes. They cut the moth boss and the spiders. Is there even anything that can poison you in the demake?

>what about the puzzles
Legitimately, there was nothing in the demake I would even qualify as a puzzle. You think finding an item and putting it somewhere else counts as a puzzle? You must really struggle with unlocking your car in the morning.

>are the copy/paste dogshit ada/sherry segment with braindead box pushing "puzzle" better in the original than what we got in the remake
Yes, the Sherry segment in the demake was tedious garbage.

Please also ignore all the other fun changes like removing the zapping system entirely so there's no merit to leaving anything behind for your second playthrough, hell, there's no reason to even do A/B runs because barely anything changes now.

ahahahaha, the moth is in the lab and isnt even a boss.
what you say about the puzzles apply way more to OG than remake.
just like i thought you were most likely filtered by the remake because it is actually challenging while the OG isnt.
and for the leaving items behind it only applies to the machine gun and sidepack in the locker and while it is neat both items are superfluous since theres more than enough ammo for the rest to ever need the machine gun and the inventory is big enough and not enough key items ever needed at once.
but sure thing buddy you are definitely high IQ.
>>
>>12056232
btw the ennemies in the sewer in the remake can poison you when they spit out smaller worms and the blue herb also gives a defense boost for a while with a red herb.
>>
>>12056252
>actually challenging
I had a tougher time avoiding enemies during the intro of RE2 on normal than I did with the entirety of demake on professional (because you had to select the hardest difficulty to even use save points).

Neither game is hard, but demake is insultingly easy.

>>12056253
Wow, 1 enemy capable of inflicting poison, compared with 3 in the original game.

RE2 and RE2 Remake are so totally different why even compare them? I love them both for different reasons. It's an actual 'remake' in that it was a new game that happens to share the same name. It doesn't try to 'replace' the original by aping it, or literally copy/paste the original format like a 'Remaster'.
The best part is that if you hate the remake of RE2, the originals are fully playable on PC either via piracy or GOG.
I only hate remakes when they do shit like delist the originals (See GTA), otherwise I simply ignore them when they're shit (which is 99% of the time)

Deus Ex is like a combination of System Shock 2 and Half-Life.
>>
>>12056316
It's nothing like Half-Life except that it's a first person game in which you shoot (optionally) things. Let's not even get into the level design of both games being diametrically opposed in philosophy.

System Shock 2 + Thief would be a more apt comparison

What a braindead mindset. Nothing is stopping you pirating GTA either, moron.

I hate the demake because it means I have to add "original" to every conversation, and basic internet searches are now no longer possible because the demake has replaced the original. I can't just say "RE2", because in the minds of children like you, they instantly picture the new version.

I also hate Prey (2017), because now I can't talk about Prey anymore without kids thinking I'm talking about an intensely mediocre imsim. I would dislike the game if it was called something else, being a soulless attempt to erase the original product makes me hate it, just the same as the demakes.

The guy who directed the game presented the gameplay as a blend of Thief, Baldur's Gate, and Half-Life, meaning you had the option to sneak, talk, or shoot in any given situation as you saw fit. This was mostly a result of combat being basically worthless Thief. Not so sure how well the talking part worked out though, the only instance of this I can remember is talking to the Navy guy at the bar so that his friends at the Shipyard let you in.

I'm suddenly reminded of how the devs of the original Hitman designated it as a "thinking shooter". It must be really jarring as a developer to see how players actually interact with your game compared to what you've imagined it to be like.
>>
>>12056619
Do you think the combat is better in Thief than in Deus Ex? Are you insane?
>>
>>12056192
reminds me more of TFC with an "hd texture pack" and ray-tracing

Talking is worth a lot in Deus Ex actually, but yeah, it's your choice, many things can be obtained in multiple ways in this game.

>oh you can do this with mods

How isn't this a coherent reason for one? Why would you pay over twenty dollars for a rerelease that superimposes clashing assets? The only real purpose for rereleases is updated compatibility and Revision already does that and you can play the vanilla game with it.
>>
well the original is on sale for a dollar on Steam, buy it now if you don't have it, because it probably won't go on sale again just like the original versions of the Tomb Raider games.
