What should I use to get the marker off?
Wiimote
I would suggest isopropyl alcohol for the plastic case, but you're pretty fucked on the sticker.
try a wet towel.if it fails, use a hint of IPA.
>>12057532I've had mixed results trying to get marker off of black hard plastic with IPA, depending on the marker type and plastic you might find that you can take off 90% of the ink but it could be perma stained. Recommend diluting it down to at least 70% because the IPA might smear the staining around. For the sticker - if it has a glossy coating I would try a Q-tip with low (25% maybe) IPA mixture, dab most of it off on a paper towel so it's largely dry before lightly rubbing the marks in circles (of course try it on a corner area or something first) taking a lot of time and care. Was able to perfectly remove an old sticker from a glossy paper game manual with no traces or damage using this technique
I've heard of people using dry-erase makers. Trace over it with the dry-erase marker and then wipe it away. The ink from that supposedly combines with the ink already on there and it can be wiped away. Never tried it, though.
just leave it

I see a brand new sticker on ebay. The vb community is very handy. Would just alcohol all of that shit off and put a fresh one on it
>>12057789would at least try to clean it before doing this since it's still intact
>>12057774>magic eraserThis is questionable. It's essentially really fine grain sandpaper.
>>12057948Yeah Magic Erase can wear off the texture. I'd say just leave it before using a Magic Eraser. Krud Kutter might do the trick, but be cautious using it on any sort of painted things or around any stickers sticker (I found out the hard way that it can remove the black ink on the label placard on the back of a Famicom)
>>12057532Goo Gone might work on the sticker. I wouldn't want to try anything stronger.
>>12057532I'd say leave it on, that's pretty soulful retarded child artwork. If you really insist on getting rid of it, then you first need to determine what it actually is. Marker, paint, some weird chalky crayon thing? If it's paint, use a little paint thinner diluted in water to wipe away what's on the plastic. Otherwise try rubbing alcohol diluted in water. As for the label, I've cleaned many a SNES/N64 label with the edge of a terry towel dipped in a tiny bit of water and dawn liquid and managed to get a lot of shit off with gentle rubbing -- try that. If that doesn't work, just accept it and move on. Also, it's a fucking virtual boy case and the world would be none the worse if you just burned it.
>>12057532For game carts I use zeiss lens wipes. No cleanup, evaporates instantly, and it's weak enough that it won't damage the type of laminated label on that case.
>>12057532Leave it, it still has 90s magic hidden in it.
>>12057532Print a new one on high gloss paper and paste it over.

>>12057610i do this all the time and it does work pretty well usually
>>12057610I've used this on quite a few cartridges that had sharpies used on their labels. It does work on glossy surfaces like that. On other surfaces it's hit or miss.
>>12057532use best practices and buy an officially licensed cleaning kit
bleach will get it off for sure.
>>12060675This. It'll also make the natural dark grey tones more rich and vibrant.
>>12060052What? Do you think kids these days are that inventive?
