Has anyone played X Fusion? What're your thoughts on it? I've heard it's very difficult, almost annoyingly so.
>>12061960Played v1.2. People whining about the difficulty are retards. It's no more difficult than an old NES game.Positivies+ challenge is welcome+ unbelievably high quality, literally better looking than the real 2D Metroids including Dread+ tons of bosses, nearly all remixed in clever ways+ observant players can find a sequence break or two on their first run+ multiple game modes for even greater replayability+ very clever new mechanics with BOX and Varia Suit+ SA-X is outstanding. Fucking OUTSTANDING, a hundred times better than anything in Fusion or Dread. They do an excellent job of tracking you, chase you through multiple rooms, and use all of Samus' powers. They appear much more frequently and sometimes guard sequence breaks.+ final area is the best final area of any Metroid by far; UNBELIEVABLE atmosphere. Yes you will die a lot and there's a lot of trial and error, but it gives you a checkpoint every other room so you can work out these execution puzzles at a good pace.Negatives- movement is awkward; many maps are built for power grip, and without it you must do jumping morphs or bomb jumps- map design is seemingly random; the zones do not connect in a logical way- the central hub is basically useless the entire game because half the entrances to other sectors are gated by late-game abilities- reserve x are a terrible crutch; something else needed to be done here- last boss isn't really a "final" boss, feels like something he couldn't find a place for earlier in the game and tacked on at the end. Final area deserved something much better- final escape is ultra laggy, the only part of the game that really suffers from this, and it's very unfortunate to end on that noteNeutral~ Samus/Adam have a lot of tongue-in-cheek banter. I don't mind, but a lot of people don't care for how they break character~ The story is an alternate retelling of Fusion. There's a lot of potential here, but it never really develops.Definitely worth playing.
>>12061960played the 1.0 version and actually enjoyed it but I am one of these retards who has played almost every metroid hack on metroid construction.the beginning is very fusion/super metroid like. you are thrown into 4-5 rooms and the game requires you to figure out on how to progress. the areas you have access to are limited but get progressively bigger. after 4-5 hours the game fully opens up (which I actually didnt like). a little bit more hand holding in terms of area progression just like in fusion would have been better in terms of building up atmosphere and maybe story. some mechanics, despite their technical marvel felt janky almost like metaquarius only shoved them in for the sake of having them. the anime dialogues and "humor" felt retarded almost pointless but I can ignore such things since you spend most of your time looking for items.have to agree with anon above me. the final area was something else. havent seen any metroid hack going for that kind of gameplay.
>look ma' i fixed metroid fusion again!hard pass.
