Should I mod my PS2 that has a network adapter or fix my fatso PS3 that needs a new GPU?
>>

What are you actually going to play online? For years I've been tempted to a get a network adapter for my dreamcast, but I don't think playing phantasy star 2 with 3 people is worth it
>>
Why not both?
>>
>>12062482
Do both. I'd mod the PS2 first, then get dirty and replace the PS3 CPU. Ghost recon

I installed opl on my ps2 but the program to load isos onto the hard drive stopped working so I had to order a memory card that reads SD cards. Apparently this is much faster than trying to play isos from USB (which works perfectly well for most single disc ps1 games

Nothing, I can just jam a big ol HD back there

Excuse me GPU, my apypolyogies

I just use my PS3 for PS1 or I just use my PS1. I think I have 3 PS2, one softmodded but doesn't read discs, then 2 ps1s one of them I put a modchip in. Variety is the spice of my eternal loneliness.

>Variety is the spice of my eternal loneliness.
I wish I had more time to sit at home alone being lonely with my video games. I hate working full time and also having roommates
>>

I manage a restaurant I'm hardly "lonely" during the day, but roommates I do not have. I love nda miss having roommates.

>fix my fatso PS3 that needs a new GPU?
1. you wont be fixing that yourself
2. it'll be like 600 usd to get someone to frankenstein it
>>
>>12062482
Throw the PS3 fat in the garbage, buy a new one for $70 and repaste it yourself.

Isn’t it just soldering?
>>
>>12062482
I'm in a similar situation. I have 2 ps2 slims. One where the drive used to be perfect and then just completely died, and one that has had issues for far longer but still mostly works for now. I was thinking of chipping the second one to play burnt ps1 discs, and using the 1st one with fmcboot card and sd2pxio or whatever the fuck it's called. Also have a fat ps3 that ylods and it's probably not worth saving. But for all I know it could just be a capacitor issue. My Wii U emulates PS1 fine enough though. Tell me what I should do.

It's not "just soldering", it's BGA reworking. And it's expensive. And unless the technician frankensteined a later model GPU (which is more complex than cannibalizing another fat model and thus there are even fewer people offering the service for a higher cost), it's still prone to future failure.

If you have physical games then mod your ps2. It's easier and the ps2 can display lower resolutions (240p) for a slightly better picture. If you're digital then the ps3 might be a better option.

Might as well just buy a new fat motherboard than trying to solder a gpu

Where are Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening - Special Edition (2006) and God of War II (2007)?
>>
>>12062635
>Nothing, I can just jam a big ol HD back there
then mod the ps2, bc ps3s are too expensive and prone to blowing up
