>Games only remembered fondly by people who played it in childhood.
>>12062864Didn't that game get massively popular with speedrunners?
Mario, Sonic, Zelda, Resident Evil, which others am I missing?
>>12062870Might as well list every popular retro game
>>12062870Pokemon
>>12062870those are remembered fondly by everyone who played them when they were new, not only children. You either missed the point of the thread or the OP didnt specify their point clearly.
>>12062945Point is OP posted a shit game.
>>12062868speedrunners hate it because you are 90% luck dependant, the final 6 kill runs with no survivors and cannot really speed it up with skips.
>>12063926Based, fuck speedtrooners.
>>12062864Yes,
>>12062864I want to play this
>>12062864>AI blatantly cheats and you either have to cheat back or just take it and get lucky.nuthin personnel kid
>>12063926Speedrunning rpgs is pretty dumb idea in general, they are too long and don't require much imput from the player, but it's the perfect genre for challenge runs like low lvl, no items, only 1 party member etc.In card games like Yu-Gi-Oh you could only use underpowered or gimmicky sets of cards.
>>12062864My vote goes towards Kid Chameleon. Its on all sorts of "Best of Genesis" lists and I could see if I had a copy back in the early 90s while game starved I probably would have nostalgia but playing it nowadays its just mediocre.
Replayed this recently and it was pretty fun, but surprisingly short. The end is also probably the biggest difficulty spike I've ever seen. A bit off topic, but are there any other smaller single player card games out there? Not talking about Roguelikes, there's too many of those.
>>12062864I don't remember this fondly, I remember raging hard because this game fucking cheats. I vaguely remember entering my card numbers or something for cards in game
>>12065058I enjoyed this one.
>>12065294Yeah, I've started that one. It's been fun so far, but the underlying card game is a bit too simple. Could have been really good if the cards didn't feel like they were all designed in the early prototyping stage.
>>12065058There's always the GB Pokemon card game. Which also has a pretty healthy romhacking scene, when you get tired or vanilla. I personally recommend TCG Neo out of these, it was very well put together.
>>12065342By "smaller" i meant not Pokemon, Magic or Yugioh. I'm well aware that each of those have several games. I'm looking for more obscure stuff, preferably ones with a good implementation too. I tried DBZ and the FMA card game and both of those were really rough.
>>12062945>when they were newFalseI played the original PS1 Resident Evil trilogy for the first time 5 years ago and I loved all 3 games
