How do i beat this guy??
>>
Call the helpline in the back of the manual.
>>
>"Good luck!"
desu it's a shame that people memorize easy methods to beat PunchOut characters every single time
>>
React to his punches and dodge. There's no pattern to his one hit KO uppercuts during thr first 90 seconds. If you don't already know, after dodging you can press the opposite direction to return to neutral faster. IIRC you need to do this to always have time to dodge his next punch.
>>
>>12063136
Real answer: do not try to dodge until he throws a punch-not as soon as he does it. Try to *delay* yourself for a millisecond or two. And learn to push left or right to quickly dodge. Being a cat owner might help.
>>
>>12063216
It's even possible to knock him out in the first round. I've done a few times, but I was playing it like almost all day for a few days.

It should also be said that input latency very much matters here - it used to be said this game was only beatable on real hardware on a CRT for that reason. Nowadays, thanks to low-lag displays and Run-Ahead, it's much more feasible through emulation, but your setup certainly matters a lot.

It's inevitable. You want to learn the best strategies and tactics on mastering your favorite games, but in the process you risk destroying the fun you may have had with it. And the worst part is you can never unlearn what you had to learn to master your favorite games.
At least that's... one perk of alzheimer's, I guess?

Hell that's everything in life, there's a honeymoon period and the fun of discovery and experimentation.
Once you settle in, something might become a comfort but you don't get that exciting spark any more. You don't feel challenged unless you self-impose some challenges or willingly just fuck around to try shit and see what happens.

This is why I'm glad modding scenes exist. Lets me experience games I like in brand new ways.

First step is to join the Nintendo Fun Club
>>
You disconnect your Nintendo System and play on the superior SEGA System instead

OH yeah. To add to that, I doubt it's possible to beat Mr Dream if the game is on NSO. I've tried and came close once. That isn't normal. So it's telling that I can reliably beat him on my PC or real cart or emulated on a CRT.

You can try what I typically do with most games, that is, if I make one mistake, one life lost that is, I reset or just turn it off. This way the best games eventually come out because I wanna friggen play for a while and kick ass and not turn it off, so it re-incentives me.

Dodge his punch then counterpunch!

I wish there was a magazine or a hotline for these kind of questions. I don't know why in this day and age there is a such a void of information. We've come so far and yet so far to fucking go.

Have you tried punching him a lot
Also it's Meteor Mike so you probably should try not to get punched yourself

It will look and feel exactly like the real cartridge and an NES.
>>
>>12063274
I beat Mike back in the day on nesticle. Didn't listen to the coping and seething.
>>
>>12063136
The best strat I can say is too look through him, not at him. Weird I know, but it works.
>>
>>12063161
Uhhh yeah, that's typically how videogames work. Do you think there's a legit way to beat king hippo without his trunks falling down or something? The easy part is learning the strategy for each fighter, the hard part is executing them. That's what makes it a classic game.
>>
>>12067385
I get noticing patterns but several of these fighters have human-capable input sequences that will force the other boxer to do the right moves at the right times to easily knock them out. Some involve getting a 10-count by knocking them down at the right times during the fights.

These aren't secret patterns/timings intentionally hidden in the game by the devs like with Glass Joe and Don Flamenco, they are basically recreating inputs of other players rather than challenging the other boxer in a fight.

he is a nigger just give him some crack and a welfare check and you automatically win
