What's the best way to play classic resi? The gog forums suggest the rebirth mods but autisimo anon in the trivia thread argues the backgrounds are broken in the PC versions - is emu the only way?
The vanilla GOG versions of 1 and 2 are fantastic imho (RE1 in particular), 3 was a pretty shit PC port to begin with so I'm not sure on that one.

Just emulate the PS1 games, original US versions for both 1 and 2
