The NES has a huge number of good games, and SMB can seem deceptively simple given that it laid the ground work for so many other games to come afterwards, but if you dig deeper you'll realise it offers a more arcade style experience that its sequels, with a faster pace and tighter gameplay, and legitimate potential for playing for high score, and that's where the depth of the game lies. If you made a list of the top ten games for playing for high score on the NES, SMB might well be in there.

Of course not. Nintendo games range from mediocre to bad. I always hated them because they there everywhere unlike actually good games being rare and hard to find. Good and accessible game was Contra and that's it can't remember any more.
