How did Doom fans think about this game in 2001?
Uhh this game was universally liked back then and the free Enemy Territory mod that followed was also pretty big for its time
Excellent game but it desperately needs an automap.
I thought it was good as fuck. Still my favorite Wolfenstein game to this day.

>>12064783Everyone liked it, more people played ET. RealRCTW is a great mod that while not perfect adds in so much extra content that I do not care.
Loved it! I still enjoy the game. Also Rob Mother Fucking Zombie.I liked how you went from a basic "cawadooty" game to a fucking necromancer shit show horror game ... that's also a shooter. Those legless things still freak me out. Also now as a grown up and firearm collector, I still lust after that FG42. It was so wild and so good and I looked it up and was like wow that's real. It's a great shooter.
>>12064783they thought "this is the nortubel of wolfenstein"
>>12064783Good game, good guns, garbage gunplay. Recoil mechanics don't feel good at all and enemies have no damage feedback. MoH AA and CoD 1 put it to shame.
xatrix design philosophy was spongy and spammy enemies = good. This game is kind of boring and poorly balanced.
>>12064783Never really liked it - it was over over id back then.It was just a good game with a gaudy theme.
Excellent game, in my top 3 FPS ever for sure. However, the forest level can lick my shitty ass.
>>12064783A game where you play as the villain was a novel concept at the time
It's fun to play it like a stealth game when you can, getting the drop on enemies and trying to stay undetected, I'd even try to clear levels without ever getting hit.Would do something similar with the first NOLF although that game had more developed stealth mechanics.>>12066073there's plenty of games were you play an american
>>12064783The multiplayer is hilarious because you can take tons of hits in that game and I played it a lot. I'd main lieutenant with an mp40 on both Allies and Axis. I'd usually play Omaha Beach as Allies.
