>I am YouNo bitch, I'm me, and that makes you not me
>>12066201posting in teh ebin schizo thread
>>12066201Is that Yako from Neuro?
>>12066291It came before that, so the question should be reversed.
>>12066291that is yubiseiharukana from ever17. Imagine being in bed with her and trying to scream her name
>>12066201The worst part of this is that they clearly did a find and replace on the entire script to replace the word "Youth" with "Kid" at some point, which somehow also picked up instances of the letters y-o-u-t-h with spaces in between them, so phrases like "I told you that" become "I told kidat." Since they also decided to call a character You (which also makes no sense, it's not a pun in Japanese, it's just the name Yu), there are even more instances of these letters than there would normally be.
>>12066297weird, I remember playing it and the translation was good
Is he a lolicon?
>>12066323Then you played a fan-updated version or something. The original Hirameki International official release is one of the most infamous bad translations of all time.
>>12066201Blast from the past, my goodness. Steam friend of mine from eons ago heavily recommended this to me, called its story one of the craziest he'd ever experienced. But he was a massive weaboo who enjoyed such tropes as>You saw, didn't you?More than anything in the world so I didn't care for his recommendation.
>>12066296No, I'm pretty sure that her name is Yubiseiakikana.
>>12066534It's not really that mindblowing, it's just that at one time it was one of the only VNs of any kind that had a commercial English release, so there wasn't much to compare it to. The script is bad, the pacing is bad, the characters are so flat that it's actually a plot device. The plot twists are fine, but not really any crazier than anything else in the well populated "twisty turny mystery" genre. It's still an iconic game for me though, because the underwater disaster setting is ridiculously comfy. I'm honestly kind of surprised it doesn't have a Netflix adaptation or something by now, just for that.
>>12066556I appreciate the effortpost, anon. Perhaps someday I'll get around to it.
I am all of me

>>12066201I looked this game up and it only has 3 pics on rule34 and no manga on hitomi la.Criminal

>>12068082>The ChinamanYikes anon, that's not the preferred nomenclature
>>12066297>it's not a pun in Japanese, it's just the name YuIt is. She literally says "AI EMU YUU" in Engrish.
>>12066534I've been a dedicated weeb most of my adult life and I've never saw the appeal in eroge and VNs.
>>12069349Anything good has appeal i.e. good writing. Higurashi up to chapter 7 has some of my favorite characterization in anything ever. If not for the loli shit I'd gladly recommend it to anyone.
>>12069361>"higurashi good writing">"loli shit"holy tourist
>>12069418Yes, Higurashi has good writing. Yes, it has loli shit.
>>12069435I don’t think Higurashi pacing can be considered good writing on any planet, even the most boring slice-of-life is better written.
>>12069439I'm going to save you years of useless thought. Whether or not something has good or bad pacing is based on how much you're invested in it. If something has bad pacing, you are not invested in it. If you are not invested in it, then something about the writing or story isn't appealing to you. I'm very appealed to by a story examining a series of murders and disappearances from a group of characters from multiple perspectives. I am not appealed to when the game goes to great lengths to have restaurant fan service for Satoko and Rika when I just want to get back to the story. When those scenes happened, the pacing was bogged down, because I was not invested in those moments. Simple as.
