It was one of my favorite consoles growing up, but I had never really gone back and replayed many of the games. I modded my Wii and have spent the last month or so replaying a lot of Gamecube games and so far.. it's been pretty disappointing honestly>Star Fox Assault - terrible>Luigi's Mansion - terrible>Super Monkey Ball - decent, but the camera sucks and it's just an arcade game through and through which means very limited content and just replaying the same stages for hours until you learn them (I'm too old for this shit honestly)>Super Monkey Ball 2 - disappointment, level design is much worse, filled with annoying, unfun, bullshit gimmicks>Rogue Leader - disappointment from Rogue Squadron, spectacle over fun gameplay>Metroid Prime - extremely mediocre and unfun, Super Metroid was overrated but still blows this piece of shit away>Wind Waker - disappointing dungeon design and way too easyThe only games I've played so far that actually have held up well and are still fun to play today are Pikmin 1 and 2

I had a similar experience with the SNES.>Super Mario World - ugly as shit, doesn't have interesting levels, not challenging enough>Yoshi's Island - literal baby game>Link to the Past - starts off decent but feels like the whole thing is copypasted past the first dungeon>Super Metroid - terrible controls, too easy, way overrated>Mario Kart - ugly as sin, terrible sliding controls>Star Fox - unplayable framerates>Kirby - literal baby games>Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, Earthbound etc - these 2D games that feel like they were made in RPG Maker are too hard to go back to>Mega Man X - decent but the slowdowns really hurt the experienceAt least Donkey Kong Country holds up alright.
