The original defender's dpad was shite. Chances, that this one's better? What do you think?

8bitdo pro 3 pad literally kino you can't compete with it
>>

grab anything but that.

I am ultimately satisfied with the Pro 2. Could be better, but still pretty good.

>>12066536
What's your experience been? I literally only have the Pro 2, and was disappointed at getting false diagonals on the DPad initially, but it seemed to have virtually completely stopped happening now.

Maybe it's worn in, or maybe I'm just more used to it now, perhaps both, but I would say that it's a solid gamepad for my purposes so far. I could have gotten lucky though.

it looks damn ugly that much I know

based. haven't tried the pro but have pic related and the M30. love everything about it (aside from it always mapping wrong in RA but that's an RA problem). i wish they'd release a version of the pro without the sticks (basically the SN30 but made for windows and not SNES).

i don't know why 8bitdo makes this board seethes so much. always great to post it though to harvest the tears.
>>
>>12067903
the sn30 pro is the shit, seriously one of the best controllers i've ever used.
>>
>>12067273
your dpad must be dirty in a specific way.
8bitdo are the kings of false diagonals.
>What's your experience been?
>8bitdo fc30 pro
had to open it up to tape the contacts to avoid unwanted diagonals.
>8bitdo sn30 pro
same.
>8bitdo neogeo cd replica
this one is genuinely good, but not really a dpad. also not really their accomplishment, since snk provided the plastic molds.
>anbernic rg351m
same issue as 8bitdo.
>trimui brick
close to vita, but less clicky. diagonals used to be harder to press, but after some use it's fine now.
>wii u pro
perfect cross dpad.
>kingkong 2 pro
similar to the wii u but stiffer, also it feels like you can press all directions at once but that is not the case. still very good.
>ps vita
perfect but clicky. some don't like clicky.
>xbox series
clicky. not as satisfying as vita but good enough.
>easysmx x10
inbetween kingkong 2 pro and xbox series.
it uses clicky switches with rubber membranes to help the feel.
>madcatz wwe brawlpad
perfect saturn-like dpad. this is my favorite to use.

do the joysticks ever get in your way when playing games that don't require them? that's my main hang-up with not buying it
>>
I have a PS2 Defender and a PS3 Defender BT edition and I think they're fantastic. Ergonomic, quality, and most importantly all the buttons are pressure sensitive so MGS2/3 playthroughs are right regardless if I'm playing HD Edition or on original hardware.

Only things about it are the hyper-sensitive R2/L2 triggers and the pretty sensitive analog face buttons, both of which can be overcome by just getting used to them. Being able to drive around slowly on San Andreas or properly put down my gun on MGS2 is worth it.

The PS3 controller especially is worth it for me since knock off DualShock 3's don't come with either pressure sensitive buttons or Sixaxis, and some games can't be completed without Sixaxis like Godfather 1 and Killzone 2.

I'll keep an eye on the pro because of universal compatibility.
>>
>>12066536
why? i've been using 8bitdo pro pad and it's been great
>>
>>12068115
how do you like the dpad? i think it's to stiff and clunky for 2d games
>>
>>12068312
I personally haven't had any issues with it. I could see how someone would prefer the "snappier" feel of an 8bitdo though, as it can be considered a bit "mushy"
>>
>>12068015
It's clean.
>>
>>12068067
Not him, but no.
>>
>>12068451
i mean internally.
you can't really avoid that, crap gets inside and blocks the contacts.
that is why buttons stop working.
>>
>>12068505
It's working perfectly though.
>>
>>12066440
Looks like they didn't learn their lesson on how to properly size or space out the face buttons once again, that's the problem all of their controllers have. The only one that doesn't have this issue is their Dreamcast controller, and that's because they made the buttons bigger instead.

>all these 3rd party controllers
why not just use a DS4
you can even get 3rd party knockoffs that are 95% similar, for like $35 on amazon
>>
>>12068842
Sick of potentiometer sticks in later years developing stick drift more often. Also, I was not best impressed by my DS4's shoddy as fuck cable connection making it unwilling to charge its battery unless it was angled just right. Also did not want my DS4 to start trying to turn on my PS4 when I was playing a game on PC.

I like this and the SN30 Pro and Switch 2 Pro. I'm gonna make my own controller soonish. I want an updated SN30 pro with TMR and dpad from Pro 3, and a clear orange colorway. i want a Kirby Pro 2 controller.

The Q38 dpad us good if you ride the edgem but poor performing otherwise. The left stick is great. The thickness of the controller makes it comfortable despite the small size. The right stick should have been replaced with two more face buttons, because it's in the way and easily touched but at least not unintentionally activated.

I haven't messed with adjusting the sticks on the Q38 yet but I enjoy it a lot for N64, out of the box. The SN30 pro is too sensitive but it still bearable for Rogue Squadron and Smash Bros. The Q38 is tolerable for F-Zero X but still suffers the same issue as every other analog stick that isn't geared and using an optical encoder to read inputs.
>>
>>12069123
hey, that one looks decent.
i would buy one for my rpi4 if i didn't have 4 dualshock 3 working perfectly fine.
>>
>>12068776
>make "definitive" dreamcast controller
>don't include C and Z buttons
they're supported buttons and there's obviously enough room, why not add them?
>>
>>12069235
thanks for the feedback. stay tuned for our next definitive controller.
in the meantime buy our current one to fund it.

>>
>>12068067
not at all. you dont even notice them on games that dont use it.

its just like the wii classic controller, which is possibly my all time fave.
