These are very old saves I've been continuing from the last 7-8ish years>Secret of ManaWeird game. Very poorly designed progression mechanics. Music ranges from really good to extremely awful, like to the point of me rushing to leave just to change the music bad (see Dwarf Village). Party AI is only horrendous from what I can tell becasue they frequently get stuck in things and hinder your ability to move. I suffer through all of this to get to the story scenes, which are very good. The "bad" is that it's not entirly plug and play, for every game you have to put custom settings especially for the buttons, but after you set it you're ready to go. But for text games or games that use a lot of keyboard features is not good, for space shooters, arcade and RPG games with set buttons it's good.

I think the slow pace of the early game is somewhat intentional, however, and it definitely opens up as you go. Grandia uses the lack of an overworld to deliberately pace your adventure. I found it incredibly amusing, though, the localization is miles better than the first.
