Every now and then they talk about the ps5 or whatever and I go "pfft, play nes/genesis/snes"

Usually they haven't heard of it so to find common ground I mention that not long prior to whatever I'm playing now, I was playing a Pokémon game. Everybody's heard of that. (The game in question was Mystery Dungeon and I've never played any other Pokémon game, nor do I intend to, but that's close enough to get the job done.)
