I enjoy this game, particularly Super Mario Bros 3. It was very generous of Nintendo to make a definitive collection like this, take a bunch of old games, and make them better.

Getting All-Stars was a godsend because I never had to budget time for a full playthrough, I could just start and if something came up I could just pick it up later.

All-stars looks significantly better and 5 y.o. me who had played them on NES before would have told you the same. The block thing can be patched and everyone here knows that.

Regardless of the weird brick block glitches and dsagreements with some artstyle choices, I do think it's an incredible deal to have 4 (or sometimes 5) mainline Super Mario games all graphically overhauled and sold as an affordable collection, plus multiplayer Mario Bros. Modern Nintendo would never do anything like this again.

What All Stars needs is a massive graphical overhaul by dedicated fans to do a better job of re-creating the look of the original games. There have been some attempts, but they are of varying quality. Pic related.
