I believe there is a subtle sadism to the sound design of Ocarina of Time and Tomb Raider. They were intense to play as a kid but coming back to these games Link's cries of pain and the sound of Lara striking the ground from high altitudes or getting burned feel oddly vivid. Both have fairly gruesome animations as wellWhich other games felt sadistic to you? Something like Harvester would be more overt featuring perverted and cruel characters
