Image paying $65 for fucking Bart's Nightmare in 1992.
That's $150 adjusted for inflation.

You clearly weren't alive back then. Licensed games back then were judged solely on the property they're based on and not any actual metric for quality. A licensed game being objectively good was treated more as a bonus at the time.

Haven't played the SNES version, but Mega Drive Bart's Nightmare is better than Turtles HH and TiT.
The Turtles games are certainly fun and well produced, but there's just not a lot going on there.

Bart's Nightmare is easily better than the shoddy SNES port of TMNT 4, that was an incredibly weak and underwhelming version, lacking the 4 player that the excellent arcade game was known for. (SNES struggled to even handle 2 player, with far less enemies and action than in arcade)

bart's nightmare is not a very good game but when its new it might appear that theres much more going on than there really is because of all the weird shit happening on the street. and it can be kind of a rush when you finally see a page blowing in the wind. the only way i can see this review making sense is if they had just got done playing the game for the first or so time and it seemed bigger and more exciting than it really was.

Posting this any time someone cries about a British 3/10 review of Megaman Legends.

>friendslop
As always "slop"-posters have the most useless opinion.

i rented the fuck out of Bart's Nightmare as a kid, but there's a reason it never went on my birthday or christmas list.

it's true though, beat em ups are a terrible genre with no appeal beyond WHOAAA 4 PLAYERS!!!!
>>

isn't this just a problem of any multiplayer game? so many games are highly regarded because you had fun with your friends playing them and not because of the game itself.

This review is cope but money was much easier to make in the 90s. Fast food was such a breeze job without 100 computers and camera's making you multi-task like crazy. Companes are absolutely obsessed with getting people to work hard for nothing today.

Just your opinion man.
