Is this worth playing again today? Does it hold up?
there's a remake, it's not badhttps://www.agdinteractive.com/games/qfg2/homepage/homepage.html
>>12075806The remake is a good zoomerproofed facsimile, but with point and click games in general (even hybrids like this one), if you have to ask at all, they're most likely not for you.
>>12075806It'll be real rough on a zoomerFirst game and third+ games are a lot more conventional adventure game stuff, this did more experimental design like all the focus on time limited scenarios (which leads to annoyances like needing to kill time towards the end of the game when you have nothing to do).The remake is a nice achievement but I don't really like the way they VGA-ify the EGA graphics and I can type and have played enough parser games that I don't mind it.

not if it was made by Sierra, all their games are shit and will softlock you, very hostile game designfuck motherfuckign Sierra, leisure suit Larfy is for fags anywayhonk if you love pussy
>>12075806Love this series but I skip QFG2 because of it's time based.
>>12077401Don't you need to play 2 to unlock the Paladin class?
>>12077409No. The first QFG game I played was QFG3. In QFG3, you can turn a fighter into a paladin if you fulfill some conditions. But the easiest way to become a paladin is by importing your characters from previous games. I started as a paladin in QFG4 (import my QFG3 char) and QFG5 (import my QFG4 char).
>>12077474Can you actually start as a paladin in QFG3 just by picking it during character creation with no import? Theres a little bit of extra story for a QFG2 paladin compared to someone that becomes one in QFG3 right at the end.
>>12079164You start as a fighter, magic user, or a thief in QFG3. Not sure about importing your characters because at that time, I didn't have any prequel savegames. But I can confirm that you can only start as a Paladin if you import your characters from QFG4. And the paladin initiation (become a paladin) only happens in QFG2 and QFG3. Any classes can become a paladin in QFG2, but only a fighter can become a paladin in QFG3.
>>12075806If you're a boomer, play the original. If you're a zoomer, play the remake.
