>>12081076Pure fan service. The 32X was barely sold in Japan. Only like half the titles (so, about 15 games) were even released there, with only one Japanese exclusive.
>>12081094>Featuring this system that only 3 people bought is fan service!I don't think you understand what fan service really means
Text is a medium.
>>12081094Remember, Virtua Fighter was a phenomenon in Japan. People bought Saturns in 1994 just to play Virtua Fighter, and the later Super 32X port is often regarded as an even better port of the game.
>>12081125By the way, that's a famous anachronism because that scene takes place in the Summer of 1994, before the PlayStation was even released in Japan and more than a year before it was ever sold in Europe.
>>12081091The /vr/ experience
>>12081149I don't recall FF8 having multiplayer
>>12081059A Neo Geo CD-like console appears in the A Certain Magical Index Movie, complete with a Metal Slug ripoff and the infamous Juggling Monkey loading screen. Somehow it fits that Touma would end up with the console that has terrible loading times.>>12081128I wouldn't be surprised if a bunch of 32X's were scooped up from clear-out bargain bins by people who went from Mega Drive to PS1 just to get access to Virtua Fighter. In the US I think 32X's eventually started going for $30 or something.
>>12081059Made a post like this but with N64 and the insecure Snoy janny deleted it immediatelyIt's weird how insecure Snoys are despite "winning"
>>12081230>calling snoys insecure when nintentroons spam the fucking board with a million Zelda and shartio threads
AJ owned a Sega Saturn. Look at the shelf in his closet.
>>12081059Everyone who's old enough remembers being their autism being triggered by the game gear In Rumble in the Bronx because it didn't have a cartridge in it. Like, they couldn't just buy the cheapest cart available at wherever they got the game gear to begin with?
>>12081153If you plugged in another control another player could issue commands so it does technically work, but generally it's just a case if suits not giving a fuck.

Do parodies count?
A young Jackie Chan playing Pac-Man 2600 version using a weirdo joypad in the back of a Mitsubishi super car. This is Cannonball Run II.
>>12081070>>12081076Surprising the mega drive appeared in some jap mediaI thought it flopped over there
>>12081623This setup would have absolutely blown my mind as a kid.
>>12081691Trannendo 64, unsurprising for that lame gay show
>>12081720Nintendo is the devil.
>>12081687>>>12081623>This setup would have absolutely blown my mind as a kid.The movie is from 1984, two years after the release of Pac-Man for the 2600. Jackie Chan is suppose to be a Japanese race car co-pilot who is testing out some wacky 'high tech' Japanese race car in a Cannonball Run race. He played the same character in the first Cannonball Run as well. The sequel is pretty cheesy and not as good as the first. But a dumb-fun Burt Reynolds movie.
>>12081117>that cold opening implying violent m-rated games gives kids an outlet and makes them behave betterbased show>>12081351>sopranos acknowledged the fucking sega saturn but never playstation 1 nor 2 despite releasing a game exclusively on the latterthe wire did the same thing. the fuck was going on behind the scenes?
>>12081732>>12081623Fun fact: The creator of Sim City, Will Wright, participated as co-driver with Rick Doherty and won the US Express, the successor to the real Cannonball Run, in 1980. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNTxylO6dog
>>12081531>Do parodies count?I mean OP posted an image for a console called the SUNN Buzzar Station. I guess they do.
